A missing toddler drove himself down to the Minnesota county fair on his toy tractor
The sheriff’s office received a call Friday night about a missing toddler, according to a Facebook post from the office.
But the determined tyke wasn’t in danger — he just decided he wasn’t done at the fair.
The young boy hopped on his battery-powered John Deere tractor toy and drove it down the sidewalk to a back entrance of the festivities, according to CNN affiliate KMBC.
The journey was a little over a block, according to Sgt. Jason Foster.
Sheriff’s deputies found him next to the Tilt-a-Whirl, his favorite ride, the station reported.
“He was reunited with Dad,” the sheriff’s office said, “who promptly suspended his son’s license by removing the battery from it.”

Georgia woman says she was fired from her job at the county jail because she reported her supervisor for giving a lap dance to a deputy while she was still on duty
Sharon Cunningham, the worker who reported the incident, described what she saw to Channel 2 Action News.
“She did a little dance,” Cunningham said, snapping her fingers and shimmying. “I was in intake when it happened.”
Cunningham, who is a jail clerk, said her supervisor only got suspended for five days without pay for the “unprofessional behavior” — while she, for some reason, was given the boot.
“Why I got fired of top?” Cunningham asked. “Everybody else gets suspension.”
Cunningham claims that the supervisor, Gwenevere McCord, is dating the local sheriff and the two actually have a violent history together. McCord was reportedly shot by him four years ago in an incident that led to him being placed on probation and fined.
Jail officials told Channel 2 that Cunningham was not fired because she reported McCord. The real reason, they said, was for gossiping and making false allegations in writing, as well as lying during an investigation. She had allegedly sent an email about the incident.
“Anything and everything I put in that email wasn’t a lie,” Cunningham said.
The Clayton County woman plans to hire a lawyer and file a lawsuit.

Trump-loving Miss Michigan Kathy Zhu dethroned after old ‘racist’ tweets surface
A Trump-loving beauty pageant winner was stripped of her Miss Michigan title over the content of her social media.
The Miss World America contest “accused me of being racist, Islamaphobic and insensitive,” tweeted Kathy Zhu, who is Asian-American.
Zhu, the president of College Republicans at the University of Michigan, told the Detroit Free Press that the two now-deleted tweets in question were a comment on World Hijab Day and a statement citing statistics related to black deaths caused by other black people.
She said that Miss World America should be more specific and clearly define what “insensitive” means, as she does not believe anything she posted was insensitive. That didn’t stop what she sarcastically referred to a “the tolerant left” from blasting her on social media.
Miss World America did not comment despite repeated attempts to contact the organization, the Detroit Free Press said.
Zhu’s dethroning came days after President Trump held a “social media summit” at the White House to applaud right-wing social media provocateurs and complain about big tech’s handling of conservative voices online.

They showered in contact lenses, then lost their vision
A scary reminder to wearers of contacts to take them out before showering or swimming.
Two UK patients were left legally blind in one eye after contracting a rare parasitic eye infection linked to water, reports Live Science. A 41-year-old woman described two months of pain, blurry vision, and light sensitivity in her left eye before doctors found a defect in her cornea, according to a report in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The woman was ultimately diagnosed with Acanthamoeba keratitis, a parasitic infection “most common in people who wear contact lenses,” according to the CDC. It describes risk factors including improper handling and “swimming, using a hot tub, or showering while wearing lenses.”
The woman eventually received a partial cornea transplant, which slightly improved her vision.
Nick Humphrey is awaiting the same procedure on his right eye. “If I get my sight back I’ll never wear contacts again,” the 29-year-old says, per Fox News. He contracted Acanthamoeba keratitis in 2018 after regularly showering with contact lenses.
“I’d wake up, pop my lenses in, and head to the gym before work, then I’d jump in the shower before heading to the office,” he says.
He’s working with charity Fight for Sight to warn others that this “can happen because of something as simple as getting in the shower.” (More about the risks here.)

The Lion King Movie Review
After months of advertisements and trailers, the live action adaptation of the Lion King is finally here! What do I have to say about it? Well I got one enjoyed it, and here’s why!
Let me just start off by saying that no it’s obviously not better than the original, however the movie itself is still great. Seeing the opening in live action was absolutely breathtaking. Yes; all the scenery in the movie is gorgeous. Pride rock looked spot on, the lions looked amazing, they definitely went all out af far as visual effects.
Now let’s get onto the voice acting. The voice acting to me was mostly good, MOSTLY. There were some line to me that did fall a little flat. James Earl Jones as always is still great as Mufasa, Donald Glover killed it as Simba, Scar was great. and Beyoncé wasn’t too cringy as Nala. The stand outs were Timon and Pumba since they got mostly new dialogue.
All in all when not comparing it to the original it’s a really great film. I for one plan on seeing it again, Lion King was a big part of my childhood and I still consider it a big part of my life today. On a scale of 1-10 I give it an 8! If you haven’t seen Lion King; go see it this weekend!

Killer released from prison, dubbed too old to be dangerous, kills again
A man who spent decades in prison for fatally stabbing his wife was released after being deemed too old to pose a threat — only to be convicted this week of a nearly identical crime.
It took jurors in Maine less than an hour to find Albert Flick, 77, guilty in the 2018 murder of a homeless mother, Kimberly Dobbie, who was stabbed at least 11 times while her twin sons watched.
That crime is eerily similar to the slaying that sent Flick to jail for 25 years in 1979 — slashing his then-wife Sandra Flick 14 times in front of her daughter.
Flick was freed in 2004 — only to be sent back to jail in 2010 for assaulting another woman.
The judge at the time ignored the recommendation for a longer sentence, saying Flick wouldn’t be a threat because of his age and it didn’t make sense to keep him locked up.
Flick was released four years later in 2014 and moved to Lewiston.
Prosecutors said he met Dobbie, 48, and became infatuated with her, stalking her and dining at the homeless shelter where she was staying.
Assistant Attorney General Bud Ellis told jurors Flick knew Dobbie was planning on skipping town and thought to himself: “If I can’t have her, I will kill her.”
Two days before the murder Flick purchased a pair of knives at a Walmart, prosecutors said.
He then attacked Dobbie in broad daylight in front of a laundromat, piercing her heart and lungs.
Her 11-year-old twin sons witnessed the slaying. It was also caught on surveillance footage.
Elsie Clement, the woman who was a child when she watched Flick stab her mother to death, said the judge who set him free will have to answer to Dobbie’s children.
“I would like to just see [everyone involved] in a line and stand there and tell [Dobbie’s] boys, explain to them how this man was on the streets and how it’s OK,” Clement told the local NBC outlet.
“How the law makes it alright for their mom to now be gone and for them to have to witness it.”
Flick will be sentenced in August and faces life behind bars.

Man arrested after allegedly raping 4-year-old girl on field trip inside a McDonald’s
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – A man was arrested after he allegedly raped a 4-year-old inside an Oklahoma McDonald’s bathroom while the little girl was on a field trip with her day care Tuesday.
Midwest City police said they responded to the restaurant near SE 15th and Air Depot to investigate a call about a disturbance.
When officers arrived, they spoke with day care employees who said a 4-year-old girl had gone to the bathroom in the play area and they went to check on her after noticing the child had “been gone for a while.”
The day care employee said the door was locked, and, after knocking for a while, a man answered and came out with his arms raised, saying “I was just washing my hands.”
The 4-year-old was asked if she was touched by the man and she said “yes,” pointing to her genital area, police said.
The man, identified as 37-year-old Joshua Kabatra, said he was in the playground area when he started to feel sick and went to the bathroom, knocking on the door, according to police.
He said when he opened the door, a female was sitting on the toilet. He says he then threw up in the sink, washed his hands and left the bathroom.
After speaking with the 4-year-old, police arrested Kabatra on two complaints of Rape 1 and one complaint of lewd acts with a child in connection to the incident.

A Utah woman died after her blood was drained into a garbage can
MILLCREEK, Utah – The family of a Utah woman is suing a hospital after they say doctors left an open tube in her body, causing her heart to drain into a garbage can, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
Donnamay Brockbank had surgery at St. Mark’s Hospital in June 2018 to remove a medical device causing an allergic reaction, according to court documents. During the procedure, Brockbank had a cardiopulmonary bypass – blood left her body through a tube in her neck and re-entered in her femur.
After the surgery, as the equipment was being broken down and Brockbank’s heart was beating on its own, the re-entry tube to the femur was closed; the needle draining blood from the woman’s neck, however, was not, according to the lawsuit.
At that time, blood was pumping directly from Brockbank’s heart into a medical garbage can, the lawsuit stated.
When Brockbank’s blood pressure dropped, transfusions were performed and live-saving measures were taking, but, according to the Salt Lake Tribune, nobody addressed the tube in her neck still leaking blood into the trash can.
Two days after the surgery, hospital employees told Brockbank’s family a “reservoir of blood” had been found in a medical garbage can, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
The family Brockbank left behind, as well as their lawyers, have been working through what they call some of the worst medical records they have ever seen in order to figure out what went wrong.
