Man arrested for beating up teen he allegedly caught raping a 5-year-old
(Meredith) – An Ohio man was arrested for attacking a teenager who he allegedly caught raping a 5-year-old boy, police said.
Richard Adams, 20, said he walked into the laundry room of his Eastlake home last Thursday and saw a 17-year-old sexually assaulting the child, WJW-TV reported.
“I kinda blacked out,” Adams told the station. “I wanted to help the young boy, and that’s all I was thinking about… getting it stopped.”
Adams said he screamed for someone to call 911 and then began fighting the teen. He then posted a video of the bloodied teen to Facebook, which he later deleted, according to WJW.
Once officers arrived to the home, they arrested the 17-year-old who was later charged with rape, the Eastlake News-Herald reported. Adams was booked on felonious assault charges.
Adams’ relationship to the teen was not immediately clear.
Following Adams’ arrest, frustrated residents bombarded the Eastlake Police Department with angry phone calls and emails demanding that the assault charge be dropped.
“We truly understand the interest, passion and concerns with this type of case. It has been processed by the court and will continue to go through the system,” the department wrote in response.
“To attack people within the system to achieve a certain outcome is not what justice is about. We appreciate the impact that this story has had on the community and beyond but we expect people to be civil in expressing their disagreement and/or support of what has and will take place.”
Adams posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 2, according to the Willoughby Municipal Court.
The 17-year-old’s identity has not been released.
‘Mars on Earth’
If you’re curious about what it’s like to live on the Red Planet, Google will now let you explore Devon Island, also known as “Mars on Earth,” right on your computer screen.
Google Street View recently added images of Devon Island, a giant uninhabited island on Earth, to its picture collection,” Fox News reported. This island, which has been deemed “unlivable” and is located in the Canadian Arctic, was nicknamed “Mars on Earth,” because its weather and terrain are the closest environments to Mars on our planet.
Google created a cool website dedicated to Devon Island, and noted how the, “polar-desert climate and barren, rocky terrain,” work well for researchers who visit the area each summer and would like to prepare for future Red Planet explorations.
The tech company collaborated with Haughton Mars Project (HMP) researchers to teach people about Devon Island. According to the project’s website, it studies different types of strategies, technologies, and training methods for future Mars missions. HMP also focuses on deep space, the moon, and near-Earth objects, which HMP says are, “key stepping-stones in the exploration of Mars.”
One of the most important areas HMP is studying is the 23-million-year-old Haughton crater, which HMP says, “resembles the Mars surface in more ways than any other place on Earth.” The Haughton crater, which was once occupied by a massive lake, has a 12.4-mile-wide impact structure and was caused by an asteroid. Due to Devon Island’s mostly cold and dry climate, the crater hasn’t suffered from much erosion damage. According to Google Earth’s Devon Island website, the crater is known as one of the best-preserved impact structures on our planet.

Eva Marcille lives in ‘multiple places’ to hide from ex Kevin McCall
Article via PageSix
Eva Marcille has taken the necessary steps to protect herself and her 5-year-old daughter, Marley Rae.
On Sunday night’s episode of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” the model shared that she lives in several different places out of fear that her ex-boyfriend, Kevin McCall, may lash out.
“I still feel a sense of threat,” Marcille, 34, shared, according to People. “I have had to move five times, and I still feel a sense of uneasiness. He’s just so petty sometimes. I’ve walked outside my balcony before and he’s been standing in the dark. And it’s the scariest feeling ever.”
She claims that McCall finds ways to track them down adding, “Because of that, I live in multiple places. Safety is a priory for me.”
Marcille, who tied the knot with Michael Sterling in 2018, was forced to explain herself after a woman claimed she was lying about her living arrangements and finances.
The “Top Model” winner explained in part, “We don’t reveal our address. We have multiples address. Some are under aliases. We’ve got to move around.”
McCall, 33, took to Twitter on Sunday to say he’s not perfect, but he’s not the person Marcille paints on television.
“Trust me I’m not perfect I had anger issues!” McCall tweeted. “I’ve completed Anger management to deal with being alienating my children & how to stop playing the victim so that I can control my situation and the overall outcome.”
A fan tweeted that McCall is “crazy as hell” and that it’s “documented.” McCall denied it all and asked for proof.
“It’s sad when she gotta keep using my name for her story line, if I was the husband I would be like ‘Real hoe of Atlanta is you out your mind, or is you still obsessed with your child’s father? Why is he in our story line so much ain’t I enuff headline for our relations?’” he added.

YouTube reportedly canceling original series as it moves away from premium content
Article via TheVerge
YouTube has canceled two of its biggest original series, and it’s not accepting pitches for new scripted shows, according to sources who spoke to Bloomberg. The sci-fi series Originand Overthinking with Kat & June have both reportedly been canceled, and YouTube no longer plans to compete with the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime, and, soon, Apple on original programming.
The news comes as Apple is gearing up to make its own push into original content with today’s expected launch of a new streaming TV service. Apple plans to spend as much as $2 billion on original content this year from established Hollywood figures like Oprah Winfrey and Chris Evans. Initially, the service is expected to rely more heavily on third-party shows from channels like HBO, Showtime, and Starz as Apple builds out its own original programming.
At one point, Google had very different plans for its streaming service, which it hoped would offer original content exclusively to paid subscribers. However, late last year, reports emerged that the company would be shifting its focus away from subscriptions and instead focus on sponsorships and ad support for its future shows.
YouTube Premium (originally called YouTube Red) is expected to continue to be available, but its focus will be on music rather than premium original content. Along with including music-focused features such as background playback, YouTube has also commissioned programming about emerging music artists. Although original video content will continue, it will increasingly be made in collaboration with YouTube creators rather than Hollywood stars and studios.
Dr Dre’s Daughter Claims She Was Pressured By Her Father To Apply To USC
What’s the saying? Don’t throw stones when you live in a glass house?
The recent college admissions scandal started when Aunt Becky from Fuller House was exposed for paying her daughter’s way into the University of Southern California.
Dr. Dre soon after posted his daughter’s acceptance letter form USC, claiming “she got in on her own” (conveniently leaving out his and Jimmy Iovine’s $70 million donation a few years prior).
They funded and created the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation. It was established to promote entrepreneurship, computer science and engineering, audio and visual design, and the arts.
However, Dre’s daughter, Truly Young, posted last May, “Dad pushing me to go to USC.” Her expression seems to tell the story.

Man is arrested in kicking of an elderly woman on a subway as bystanders shot video
Article via CNN
A man who was filmed kicking a 78-year-old woman repeatedly on the subway in New York has been arrested and charged with assault, police said.
Video of the attack on a Bronx subway car has been widely shared online. It showed a tall man in glasses, a dark jacket and a knit cap forcefully kicking the woman while she was aboard a train. Bystanders recording video of the attack yelled “ooohh, ahhhh, naahh” as the man hit the woman, but they did not intervene to stop him. It’s unclear what happened before the attack or whether the two know each other. After the attack, the woman appeared to wipe away tears as she quietly sat in a corner with cell phone cameras pointed at her. As the man walked past bystanders and off the train, he shouted “WorldStar that!” a reference to a popular site that posts videos of people involved in altercations, among other things.
Police identified the suspect as Marc Gomez, 36, of Yonkers. He was arrested Saturday in Manhattan and charged with multiple counts of assault and harassment, the NYPD said in a statement.
The law firm for Steven Mechanic, the man listed as the suspect’s attorney, declined to comment when reached by CNN.
The attack happened on March 10 after 3 a.m., but the video did not surface until recently. After the incident, the woman rode the train one more northbound stop and was met by EMS when she exited the train, the NYPD said in a statement. It said she suffered from bleeding and swelling with cuts to the face. She was treated and released from the hospital and is getting the care, advocacy and support she needs, NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot F. Shea said.
German woman known as ‘scammer socialite’ will likely get deported
Article via FoxNews
Anna Delvey, the infamous “scammer socialite” who posed as a wealthy heiress to infiltrate the upper echelon of New York City’s social scene, is facing deportation after her trial concludes.
The German citizen, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, is currently facing ten counts of larceny after allegedly swindling hundreds of thousands of dollars from banks, hotels and wealthy friends over the course of several years. Delvey, 28, reportedly entered the United States under the Visa Waiver Program in June 2017, but stayed far past the legal timeframe of 90 days.
Rachael Yong Yow, a representative for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), said that the department requested that Delvey be handed over to them after her trial, regardless of whether or not she is found guilty.
“ICE is requesting that we be notified prior to her release from local custody so she can be taken into ICE custody,” Yow told INSIDER. “Regardless of whether or not she is convicted, she is amenable for removal because she is a visa waiver overstay. If she is convicted, she is sentenced to serve her time in the US.”
Delvey’s story found viral fame after an article exposing her years-long con was published in New York magazine last year. After successfully convincing the entirety of New York’s social scene that she came from a long line of foreign family money, she secured loans using bad checks worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in an attempt to get funding for a business she planned to launch. She subsequently scammed months worth of free stays in some of the city’s most luxurious hotels, private jets to meetings with Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, and vacations on yachts in Ibiza before her crimes were revealed.
Now, even after being arrested, Delvey owed more than $250,000 in unpaid legal fees she allegedly owes to the firm representing her.
U.S. law designates any fraud-related offenses “in which the loss to the victim(s) is more than $10,000 as a “deportable offense.” According to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, she stole approximately $275,000.
Shonda Rhimes, who has been involved in the production of shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” and “How to Get Away with Murder,” is in the process of creating a Netflix series about Delvey’s life.
Jurors were selected for her trial this past week, and the proceedings are expected to conclude sometime next month.
Prosecutors have reportedly offered her three to nine years behind bars in exchange for a guilty plea, but she continues to plead not guilty.
Girl on the Third Floor is a skin-crawling horror movie about hauntings and the supernatural perils of toxic masculinity
It’s hard finding new ways to haunt a house. And Girl on the Third Floor, a horror film that premiered at 2019’s SXSW Interactive Festival, doesn’t make a point of trying. It hits the classic beats of the genre, largely established by Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House: a protagonist with a troubled past moves into a grand but dilapidated old home with a dark secret, then finds a malevolent force dredging up his personal demons.
Instead of trying to push narrative limits, Girl on the Third Floor uses predictability to generate suspense. It draws the audience through each step of the protagonist’s inevitable downfall, delivering copious foreshadowing and jump scares with simple practical effects. Marbles, mucus, and doorbells have never been so ominous.
