There’s been a lot said and written about Wendy Williams‘ husband Kevin Hunter over the years, especially in the last few months. He’s been accused of being abusive towards Williams, cheating on her and fathering a child with another woman, which the couple has denied.
As reported, Williams hasn’t filmed an episode of “The Wendy Williams” show since Dec. 20, 2018, after she slurred her words and seemed out of it during an awkward interview with rap group The Lox.
She apologized for the episode afterwards and chalked her behavior up to being affected by pain pills that she’s been taking for an injured shoulder. Williams’ absence has also been attributed to her having Grave’s Disease.
Since the 54-year-old has been out, some of her staff on “The Wendy Williams Show” said if she does come back, they want her to return without Hunter, who that insider spoke very badly of.
Charlamagne Tha God also expressed his dislike for Williams’ husband in an interview with the New York Post earlier this month. Charlamagne was Wendy’s co-host on her radio show “The Wendy Williams Experience” for years until he was let go in 2008.
“I don’t f–k with Kevin. I think he’s a terrible human being,” he said. “I will just tell you that I hope Wendy Williams wakes up before one day she doesn’t wake up.”
To this day, there’s still a grey area surrounding the reasons Charlamagne and Williams parted ways. Some reports indicate it was due to a lay-off, but reportedly Williams said it was a matter of downsizing.
But in Charlamagne‘s 2017 book “Black Privilege,” the “Breakfast Club Host” said he was fired over a business deal between he and Hunter that went awry.
And even though Hunter hasn’t spoken ill of Charlamagne publicly, Williams confirmed that she had beef with her former colleague by once claiming not to know him, which in 2017 Charlamagne said he was confused about.
“I don’t have an issue. I can’t say that for [Williams and Hunter],” he told People. “I know why me and her husband fell out, but I don’t know what he said to her. I don’t know what her perception is of why her husband says ‘We don’t mess with him no more.’”
Williams, nor Hunter have responded to Charlamagne’s recent interview with the New York Post, and the last public sighting of the talk show host was last month when she was seen in Florida.
