3 children dead after becoming trapped in chest freezer
SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. — Three children in Florida have died after climbing inside a chest freezer that was recently brought to their home.
WCTV reported that the children, ages 1, 4, and 6, were found unresponsive and taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The children were playing outside in the yard when they climbed inside a chest freezer that had not been plugged in or brought inside, according to authorities.
A woman at the home who was with the kids said she went inside to use the bathroom and could not find the children when she returned.
She said she opened the freezer and found the children inside not breathing. The woman then called 911.
Authorities believe the freezer’s lid closed and a hasp fell shut, trapping the children inside. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
R. Kelly accuser says he threatened to reveal her sex life; holds news conference with Gloria Allred
NEW YORK — R. Kelly wrote a letter threatening to reveal embarrassing details of a woman’s sexual history if she didn’t drop a lawsuit accusing him of sexual abuse, the woman and her lawyer said Monday.
In the letter, a person identifying himself as R. Kelly warned a lawyer for the woman, Faith Rodgers, that if she persisted with the suit, she would be “subjected to public opinion.”
The letter said the singer would demand medical documentation of her claim that he gave her herpes, force her to turn over texts and social media posts, and have “10 personal male witnesses testifying under oath about her sex life.”
“If Ms. Rodgers really cares about her own reputation she should cease her participation and association with the organizers of this negative campaign,” the letter said.
A lawyer for R. Kelly in Chicago, Steve Greenberg, denied the letter’s authenticity, saying it “looks fake.”
“It obviously was not authored or signed by Mr. Kelly, nor sent on his behalf,” Greenberg said. “He doesn’t write letters.”
The letter was sent in October to one of Rodgers’ lawyers in New York, a few weeks after the singer was served with the lawsuit accusing him of demeaning her, locking her in rooms and vehicles, and subjecting her to “non-permissive, painful and abusive sex.”
Rodgers, 21, said she met Kelly as a 19-year-old after a concert in San Antonio. She participated in the recently aired Lifetime documentary “Surviving R. Kelly,” which catalogued years of accusations against the singer.
“We are here today to let Mr. Kelly know in no uncertain terms that he cannot and will not intimidate his alleged victims into keeping silent about their allegations,” one of her lawyers, Gloria Allred, said at the news conference Monday.
“No woman should be victim-shamed, harassed or retaliated against because she asserted her rights and spoke her truth,” Rodgers added.
The Associated Press does not typically name people alleging sexual abuse unless they come forward publicly, as Rodgers has done.
Kelly has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
The letter send to Rodgers’ New York lawyer, Lydia Hills, also lectured her in sometimes nonsensical terms about her understanding of the law.
“This is to enlighten you concerning the presumption of court appearances that you may not be aware of since attorneys are taught a coloring of law and not Canon or Common Law. Color-of-Law is NOT law. It’s fiction for corporate fictions of which I am not.”
The letter writer added later that, “I am exempt and not subject to this court so I don’t know why you are even addressing me.”

‘Made in Staten Island,’ an MTV Reality Show, Makes the Borough Look Bad, Critics Say
First there was “Jersey Shore” on MTV and then “Mob Wives” on VH1.
Now another reality television series, set to debut on Monday, features a blend of both — and like its predecessors, it is drawing criticism that it stereotypes Italian-Americans.
“Bosses aren’t born, they’re ‘Made in Staten Island,’” MTV said in promotional materials for the show, “Made in Staten Island,” which the network described as “grittier and edgier” than its other reality shows.
“Made in Staten Island,” which tracks young adults trying to avoid mob lifestyles, has drawn the ire of city officials and thousands of people who signed an online petition calling for it to be canceled. The show perpetuates the notion that Staten Island is “a cesspool of gangsters, meatheads and low lives” and is premised on the idea that “kids from Staten Island all grow up surrounded by the mafia,” the petition said.
One of the show’s executive producers is Karen Gravano, a star of “Mob Wives” and the daughter of Salvatore (Sammy the Bull) Gravano, who was a hit man for John Gotti, the Gambino crime family boss, and later became a government informant. Ms. Gravano’s daughter Karina Seabrook, 19, is one of the stars of the show.
“A lot of us are faced with two options: the street life or the straight life,” says one of the show’s other stars, Christian Patterson, 20, in a preview. “Our crew was born in the streets, and now they’re looking for a way out.”

Kanye West dropped out of Coachella due to over-the-top demands, ‘port-a-potties’ talk
The real reason why Kanye West dropped out of the mega-music festival Coachella has been revealed, and unsurprisingly, it has to do with the star’s over-the-top requests.
Billboard claims that on New Year’s Day, just two days before the highly anticipated lineup was set to be unveiled, West threw a fit because the festival’s organizers refused to allow him to build a giant chrome dome in the middle of its grounds to perform on instead of the main stage.
ARIANA GRANDE TO HEADLINE COACHELLA AFTER KANYE WEST DROPS OUT OF FESTIVAL
Executives from Coachella’s parent company Goldenvoice told West that the custom-made dome wouldn’t be possible, because it would force them to reorganize the festival’s setup entirely, and move one of the largest sections of portable bathrooms on the grounds. West reportedly hung up abruptly and said he was “an artist with a creative vision who shouldn’t be spending his time talking about port-a-potties.”
Due to West’s last-minute cancellation, Coachella was forced to make a quick replacement, which they found in Ariana Grande. The pop star is managed by Scooter Braun, who also worked with West until the rapper ended their professional relationship late last year because he claimed he “can’t be managed.”
Grande will now take West’s place to close out the final night of the three-day festival, and will make history as the youngest Coachella headliner ever.
West’s lofty request is just the most recent in the star’s erratic behavior spanning the last year. West, who claims he was diagnosed, then misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder, has been candid about his mental health struggles, and proudly declares that he no longer takes medication at this point in time.
It’s certainly a disappointment for fans that West will no longer be performing at the festival, which is widely considered one of the biggest music festivals in the world. Pre-sale tickets sold out in just six hours for this year’s lineup, and an estimated 125,000 people are expected to flock to the desert to see their favorite artists at the festival’s 20th iteration.
West’s appearance at Coachella had reportedly been in the works for several years. Now with the financial backing allowing artists to be paid between $2 million and $5 million to perform there, the draw for musicians and concertgoers alike is at an all-time high.
However, given that West had not collected any payments from Goldenvoice or signed any contracts, they decided to abandon negotiations with him about the dome shortly before the deadline to announce the lineup arrived.
Billboard also revealed that West nearly landed a headlining spot at the Governors Ball festival in New York, which never happened because of his demands for a dome stage.

Cheating Husband Gets Chest Tattoo To Apologize To His Wife, Gets Mocked For Misspelling
We have seen some of the crazy cases of cheating in the year 2018, even many celebrity couples have been in the spotlight for this. While there is a lot of audience rooting for some couples to get back and exchange their apologies, this one man has gone to a totally different level to apologize to his wife for cheating on her. He seems to have gone all out on this apology that he branded on his chest in the form of a permanent tattoo. As bizarre as it sounds, it has met with mixed responses, but most of them have been filled with ridicule.
While a passing thought – the one that is prompted by survival logic – which might come to our minds is that getting a permanent brand on your chest which equates you to some of the social evils is not a great idea at all. Especially if you are trying to seek forgiveness. However, Jose L. Torres, a man thought to be from Houston, Texas had a totally radical view about apologies, and he started his New Year with a painful bang.
An image of the tat, in which he owns up to being a ‘liar’ and a ‘cheater,’ has apparently gone viral. Garnering a lot of derision, mockery, laughter, and face-palms on social media. It seems to have an aura of defiance that a lot of us might feel is unnecessary and pointless, given how we use tattoos to commemorate something valuable or to honor a person. Torres’ attempt at this gesture comes across not only as misplaced but also something that he did not think through.
Tattoo artist Tattoos By Jorge first posted the image of the tat on Instagram, where he goes by @sickcat_13. “Nothing like some nice lettering to start the year,” he wrote. The photo has gone viral ever since it has been shared on Instagram. Apart from the tattoo communities and other Instagram users, people on Reddit and Twitter have also been talking about this Torres’ tattoo.
It appears that this was not his first attempt at getting a tattoo. He already has his name written over his belly button. But this new attempt is nothing short of a problem that he seems to have invited upon himself.
In a message written from nipple to nipple and down to his navel, it reads: ‘I, Jose L. Torres am getting a tattoo voluntarily on January 2, 2019 so that I can earn my wife’s trust back for the pain and suffering I have cause in our marriage.
He then goes on to list that he is a ‘liar,’ ‘cheater,’ ‘manipulator,’ ‘deciever,’ ‘w****/prostitute lover,’ and ‘dishonest and disrespectul.’
Many people were quick to point out the many inaccurate spellings included in the lengthy tattoo, with one person questioning: “Didn’t you double check and treble check the spelling??” And other responses have not ceased. Below are some of the responses that are transparent of the feelings being felt by people on social media:

A Young Boy Sold His Kidney 8 Years Ago To Purchase An iPhone Suffers Miserably Soon
A 25-year-old Chinese man is constricted to his bed and needs constant attention due to a decision he made eight years ago. Xiao Zheng, like every other teenager, was obsessed with buying an Apple product. Due to his financial constraints, he could not afford a new iPhone and An Ipad that he deeply desired. At the age of 17, he made the worst decision of his life by trying to sell his kidney for some money in return.
He desperately tried to prove his trendiness to his classmates by purchasing an Apple product. Back then he underwent a procedure where one of his kidneys were removed in central Hunan Province of China. Zheng was paid only paid 22,000 yuan (£2,000) for his organ. In an attempt to hide the details of this procedure from his family he traveled to the eastern Anhui province from his home in secrecy.
As reported by CNTV the boy previously identified as Xiao Zheng said that he wanted an iPad but could not afford it and got in touch with someone who could get him enough money just for one of his kidneys: ” At the time, I wanted to buy an iPad2, but I didn’t have any money. When I was on the internet, I had a kidney agent send a message, saying that selling a kidney can give me 20,000.” He was discharged after 3 days.
The accused doctor who carried out this operation identifies Zheng as Wang and says that the operation was performed at an uncertified clinic which was provided by the middleman. Reports say that the kidney was sold to a patient illegally for $10,000 (£7,860) and another 150,000 yuan (£17,258) for the process. Wang received 10% of the total profit which was 22,000 yuan and the majority of the share was taken by the middleman who facilitated the whole process.
Without any further delay, the boy purchased the electronic gadgets that he so desperately wanted to get. When his mother saw the expensive laptop and iPhone she was surprised to the core and started asking her son about the source of the money. In an interview with BBC News she said”, “When my son came home he had a laptop computer and an Apple phone. I asked him where all the money for that came from. When he couldn’t keep it to himself any longer he finally told us. He said, ‘Mum, I sold my kidney.’ When he told me I felt like the sky was crashing down on our family.”
Wang’s mother immediately called the police and reported this illegal activity. Initially, the hospital refused such claims but in 2012 five people were arrested which included the doctor who performed the operation and the middleman who arranged it. They were charged with intention to injury and were jailed for three to five years. Wangs family was compensated with a sum of 1.47 million yuan (£169,000) after the court ruled in November 2012. A few days after the surgery Wang’s health started deteriorating at a speedy rate which made his family worry a lot.
He slowly developed a renal deficiency and has been bedridden since then. Illegal selling of organs has become a fairly common practice in China according to The Telegraph. Although the Chinese government has been trying to irradicate this practice it is still quite prevalent. People pay the hefty amount that can go up to £50,000 just to get a new kidney in China. It’s the demand that needs to be curbed in order to wash away the black market for such organs.
If you view the statistics, more than one million people residing in China suffer from organ failurea and require a transplant every year but due to these illegal trading, less than 10,000 people are able find a matching organ doner through a proper and legal channel. The shortage of organ is further increased as only a handful of Chinese agree to donate their organs after death because of their belief that their corpse such remain untouched so that they can enjoy their afterlife in heaven.
