Watch: Amara La Negra Shares Her Natural Hair Journey
Watch: Amara La Negra Shares Her Natural Hair Journey Here
Amara La Negra is a proud Afro-Latina who “embraces her truth.” For La Negra this means that rocking her hair in its natural form—an afro. But the pop star’s striking hairstyle hasn’t always been so well received.
“I’ve had so many stones, and so many rocks thrown at me that eventually it just stopped hurting,” said La Negra. Though she made the decision to give up her relaxer as a teenager, even in adulthood, the Miami native has had to face issues of colorism and prejudice. Notably, on Love & Hip-Hop Miami, where La Negra has risen to fame, producer Young Hollywood said he wanted her to look “A little bit more Beyoncé and a little less Macy Gray.” Goodbye, Sir.
“No matter what you do, people will always have something to say. Whether your hair is too straight, whether your hair is too kinky, whether your hair is too curly—do whatever makes you happy,” La Negra told The Root.
Beyoncé’s Former Drummer Claims Singer Molested Her with ‘Dark Magic,’ ‘Extreme Witchcraft’
A woman who once worked as a drummer for Beyoncé claims the singer is wrapped up in the practices of “extreme witchcraft” and has been using her spells to run surveillance and control her finances, and now she wants a restraining order against Bey.
According to very bizarre court documents obtained by The Blast, Kimberly Thompson says she used to work for Beyoncé: “I worked for her as her drummer for her band for 7 years.”
She claims that for some reason, Bey has started a campaign of harassment against her, that includes “Extreme witchcraft, Dark magic” and “Magic spells of sexual molestation.” She also claims the “Lemonade” star murdered her kitten.
Thompson believes Beyoncé has been taping her phones and controlling her finances. It’s unclear why Thompson believes the singer is allegedly doing all this to her, but she is adamant it all stems from Bey.
We did some research on Thompson, and according to interviews and reports it appears she is a drummer that performed with Beyoncé as part of an all-female band. She has also released several albums on her own record label and has played with The 8G Band on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
She also posted a YouTube video recently talking about “mean” people, and appears disheveled and erratic.
Thompson’s request for a temporary restraining order was denied by a judge, most likely because of the non-sensical rantings about witchcraft.
We reached out to Thompson and Beyoncé for comment and will update accordingly.

Porsha Williams: ‘RHOA’ Star, 37, Reveals She & Boyfriend Are Expecting 1st Baby — Congrats
Baby news is the best news! Porsha is pregnant with her first child, and we can’t wait to watch her and her boyfriend grow their family.
Real Housewives of Atlanta fans, this is not a drill! Porsha Williams, 37, is pregnant with her first child, she confirmed to People. She and her boyfriend Dennis McKinley are expecting, which means that Kenya Moore, 47, isn’t the only reality star on the Bravo show with a little one on the way. Speculation about Porsha’s pregnancy has been circulating all week, and we’re so glad to find out that this rumor rings true! She looks happy in every sweet pic she posts with her S.O. We can’t imagine how big her smile will be when she’s got a little bundle of joy!
When I found out I was pregnant, I was excited, but I had mixed feelings,” she admitted to the mag. “The other feeling I had beside excitement was fear.” Of course, this was a valid fear for Porsha, who suffered a miscarriage six years ago. “Just the fear of ‘Is the baby going to be okay? Will I make it full term?’ All those questions you ask if you’ve had a miscarriage before,” she explained.
Porsha has had parenting on her mind for a long time, and it has sure helped that she’s got an adorable niece to help teach her the basics! “Every time I’m around my niece, she gives me baby fever,” she told People last year. “But that’s the thing about baby fever. You have it, and then you get well again. I’m okay right now. I’m not going to have a baby until I’ve found that right guy. And I’m sure once I find him, that’ll be one of the first things we do.” Anyone who has seen Porsha’s social media knows that she is head over heels for her boyfriend. Clearly Dennis is the one and they’re ready to jump right into this next chapter!
She and the entrepreneur have been hot and heavy all summer. They were even spotted shopping for engagement rings!
Porsha shared the sweetest shot of them on Dennis’s birthday. Her boyfriend’s arms were wrapped around her and they wore matching smiles. “Let’s make it last foreverrrr,” she said. “Yes we have a secret handshake lol he matches my goofy swagg.” They make such a cute couple — and will be even cuter parents!

Brooklyn high school teacher arrested for allegedly producing child pornography
BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn high school teacher was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of making child pornography and using Facebook to lure his alleged victims, authorities said.
Jonathan Deutsch, a teacher at Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences in Manhattan Beach, faces five counts of sexual exploitation of child, according to the United States Attorney Eastern District of New York. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.
Starting in January of 2017, the 34-year-old suspect allegedly contacted hundreds of Facebook users who appeared to be minors. He had sexual conversations with at least 45 of them, officials said.
The victims, none of whom were Deutsch’s students, range in age from 10 to 16 years old, officials said.
He often instructed the children and teens to send him videos and photos of them performing sexually explicit acts, authorities said. He allegedly sent minors sexual photos that he told the victims were of himself.
Deutsch teaches English at Leon M. Goldstein High School for the Sciences, according to the high school’s website. After his arrest, Deutsch’s page on the school’s website was deleted.

400-Lb Man Not Guilty After Boy Asphyxiates Under Him
Donald Martin Jr. pleaded guilty to reckless homicide in April in connection with the death of his 11-year-old grandson. On Monday, a judge ruled the Mount Orab, Ohio, man was innocent.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Martin in June withdrew his guilty plea, and Brown County Judge Scott Gusweiler found the case didn’t meet the state’s definition of recklessness, which requires a disregard for the risks and consequences of one’s actions.
In pinning Dylan Martin-Davis between his body and the arm of a couch to calm the boy down on Nov. 17, 2017, Gusweiler wrote that he found no proof the 58-year-old was aware the position could cause death; WLWT describes the position as Dylan being put over the arm of the couch, with Martin then on top of him.
Dylan, who Fox8 reports weighed 90 pounds, died of asphyxiation. The child’s father disagrees with the ruling, telling the Enquirer, “How do you kill a child and walk free? How can you pin a child down—my understanding is for five to 10 minutes—and not know what you’re doing?”
Family Claims Hazing Took The Life Of 20-Year-Old UC Riverside College Student
Police are currently investigating the passing of a 20-year-old college student who sadly passed away over the weekend. Tyler Hilliard would have been a junior at the University of California, Riverside this year, however his family says his heart stopped after an alleged hazing incident.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Hilliard’s family says he was pledging to be a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. His mother, Myeasha Kimble-Hilliard, said she discovered text messages in his phone that revealed he went to a Mount Rubidoux hiking trip, also allegedly known as “gold paddle day.”
The text messages also reprotedly revealed that Hilliard was “forced to eat an entire onion covered in hot sauce, forced to drink large amounts of water and was paddled with a piece of cactus as part of the fraternity’s pledge process.”
“I’m not saying that his death was a direct result of hazing. I don’t know that for sure,” his mom told reporters. “But I believe something happened that led up to his death.”
However, Hilliard’s aunt Robyn Fountain said, “It was very clear that they were being hazed.”
Hilliard was rushed to the hospital around 9 p.m. on Saturday after he left Mount Rubidoux. His family says his heart stopped seven times before he was pronounced dead.
As of now, authorities have labeled his death as “suspicious.” Detectives are investigating if hazing played a role in Hilliard’s death or if he had an underlying medical issue. The results of the autopsy report have yet to come back.
The LA Times reports that UC Riverside has a zero-tolerance hazing policy and the university’s chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha couldn’t be reached for comment at the time of publishing.
The university released this statement in response to the news: “The UC Riverside community grieves the loss of our student Tyler Hilliard. We’ve shared our condolences and offer of support with Tyler’s family and have made counseling services available to students, faculty, or staff who knew him. UCR Student Affairs and UCPD are collaborating with the Riverside Police Department to determine the circumstances regarding Tyler’s passing.”
“I couldn’t ask for a better kid,” Myeasha Kimble-Hilliard told KTLA. “He had a bright future ahead of him.”
“Their organization is hazing and they need to be aware of it,” she added. “And they need to put a stop to it.”

Life-Size 2 Will Reunite Tyra Banks and Lindsay Lohan
It seems as though all of our childhoods are being brought back around.
Lindsay Lohan’s movies are some of the most important parts of our our childhood and preteen years. Now, in December Life Size 2 will premiere, 18 years after the first movie aired.
it has Tyra Banks back in the lead as a life-size doll that comes to life. The model-turned-actress is promising that her original co-star Lindsay Lohan will be showing up too.
Tyra Banks is excited to be returning to the fictional town of Sunnyvale in Life-Size 2. She stars as Eve, a living doll who has already dabbled in a medical career, aerospace design and the fashion industry, really giving Barbie a run for her money. Banks had this to say about the unexpected sequel that most fans didn’t even really know they wanted.
The original premiered as a Disney Channel original movie way back in 2000. Lindsay Lohan was just getting started, starring as Casey Stuart, a girl who transformers her favorite doll into the perfect living, breathing, thinking woman. Banks was initially disappointed that Lohan couldn’t return for the sequel. Even though the actress turned international resort owner and future MTV star had expressed a deep interest in being in the movie. Banks says this.
“She has this new TV show on MTV about this club so she couldn’t make it, which was sad. [Lindsay] will be in the movie in some kind of way. We’ll see where that ends up.”
Though Lindsay Lohan wasn’t around for initial shooting, she will be participating in the movie. Banks has a new co-star to contend with this time around too. Grown-ish star Francia Raisa will be stepping in to occupy some of the space left by Lohan. And apparently, Banks and Raisa really hit it off. Tyra goes onto say this.
“We went to a spa together before we started shooting and that really bonded us. That girl can act, it’s in her eyes.”
Life-Sized 2 won’t be debuting on the Disney Channel. Instead, it will be part of Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas line-up, hinting at a Christmas themed story this time around. While talking about Life-Size 2 with The Hollywood Reporter, Tyra Banks also revealed that, should her long-running reality competition series America’s Next Top Model return for another season, it will probably mark the beginning of the end. She says this about wanting to bring it all to a close with this next possible run of episodes.
“I wonder, should I stop at [season] 25? Because I don’t want it to stop at, like, 29. You know what I mean? You want it to stop at a round number.”
Tyra Banks went onto say that the original Life-Size theme song is going to be revamped for the sequel. She didn’t provide any more info on Lindsay Lohan’s return, but it sounds like it might be nothing more than a glamorized cameo. Well, us Life-Size fans will take what we can get.

School superintendent on Texans star: ‘You can’t count on a black QB’
A school superintendent in Texas said he thought he was sending a private message when he wrote a public Facebook post blasting Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, stating, “you can’t count on a black quarterback.”
Lynn Redden, superintendent of the Onalaska Independent School District, made the comment in reference to the final play of the Texans’ 20-17 loss on Sunday to the Tennessee Titans during which Watson held onto the ball before completing a pass to receiver DeAndre Hopkins as time expired, leaving no time to try a last-second, game-tying field goal.
“That may have been the most inept quarterback decision I’ve seen in the NFL,” Redden wrote on a Facebook post promoting a Houston Chronicle story about the game. “When you need precision decision making you can’t count on a black quarterback.”
But Redden didn’t realize that the post was public. He later deleted his comment and told the Chronicle he wishes he never shared that sentiment.
“I totally regret it,” Redden told the newspaper.
Redden, who oversees 1,130 students and 175 staffers as the district’s superintendent, did not immediately return a message seeking comment from The Post early Tuesday. He had not faced any discipline in connection with the remark as of Monday afternoon but told the Chronicle he understands how people may consider it to be racist.
Redden said he was referring to the statistical success of black quarterbacks in the NFL.
“Over the history of the NFL, they have had limited success,” he told the newspaper.
Doug Williams in 1988 became the league’s first black quarterback to lead his team to a championship, taking the Washington Redskins over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXII. Williams, who started the season as a backup, was named the game’s MVP after completing 18-of-29 passes for 340 yards and four touchdowns.
More recently, in 2014, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson became the second black quarterback to win it all, beating the Denver Broncos 43-8 in his second season as a pro.
The eagle-eyed reader who caught Redden’s comment, meanwhile, said he hopes there are repercussions to follow.
“It’s important to make sure horrible words are met with consequences, especially for those in powerful positions with influence,” reader Matt Erickson told the newspaper.
Watson, for his part, said the Titans simply countered with “good coverage” during the game’s waning seconds, according to ESPN.
Asked if he should’ve thrown the ball away earlier, he said: “Of course.
“But while you’re playing … you can sit back and sit in your seats and say that I needed to throw the ball away,” Watson said. “But we tried to take a shot and we didn’t have any timeouts and they guarded the sideline very well. So my instincts took over and tried to get the ball and time ran out.”
Coach Bill O’Brien instead took most of the blame.
“We’re just trying to get it into field goal range and just trying to — we’ve got to do a better job of coaching that play up,” O’Brien told reporters.
