Teen pulls gun on McDonald’s manager over dropped change
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A teenager was charged over the weekend after threatening a McDonald’s employee with a gun, according to Memphis police.
Several teens pulled up to the drive-thru window Saturday morning in a 2007 Hummer HU3 and paid for their food. As the manager was trying to hand them their change, he accidentally dropped some of it on the ground. That’s when the front passenger allegedly called him a racial slur, according to WREG.
The man responded by telling the 15-year-old not to call him that, which prompted the 17-year-old driver to reach for a gun and partially open the door, Memphis police said.
The manager told officers he immediately hit the security alarm and locked the window.
The three suspects were still sitting in the drive-thru of the restaurant on South Perkins Road when police arrived. All three were detained.
The driver was eventually charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon after police discovered the gun was reported stolen from the 3700 block of Highland Park Place back in February. The other two juveniles were cited for curfew violation.

A white woman dubbed “Pool Patrol Paula” on social media has been fired from skincare company Rodan + Fields a week after she was charged with assaulting a black teenager at a community pool in South Carolina.
In a statement obtained by NBC News in a report published Sunday, the company said Stephenie Sebby-Strempel, who was an independent contractor for the skincare brand, was no longer affiliated with the company after it determined she violated the its policy following its review of “law enforcement statements.”
“We do not condone violence of any kind and pride ourselves on embracing inclusion and acceptance of all,” Rodan + Fields also said in an earlier statement.
Sebby-Strempel was charged with third-degree assault after she confronted a 15-year-old boy and his friends at a community pool in Summerville, S.C., on June 24, according to an incident report.
The 38-year-old reportedly told the teens they “didn’t belong” there and had to leave.
The group of friends then began collecting their things and started to leave, a victim told police. Sebby-Strempel, however, allegedly began calling them “punks” and using racial slurs.
A video capturing the incident went viral online showing Sebby-Strempel threatening to call the police and telling the teenagers to “get out!”
The woman can also be seen reaching for the camera before the video abruptly cuts off. She allegedly struck the teenager at least three times.
According to local station WCSC, when Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office detectives attempted to serve Sebby-Strempel with an arrest warrant last Monday, she even allegedly bit one detective and pushed another into the wall.
The video is the latest in a series of widely publicized incidents caught on video that have sparked public outrage.
Earlier this year, a white resident nicknamed online as “Barbecue Becky” called police on a black family who were setting up a charcoal grill in a public park.
Another viral video from last month also showed a white woman dubbed “Permit Patty” calling 911 on a black girl selling bottled water in San Francisco.

Racist Roseanne Teases TV Return: ‘I’ve Already Been Offered So Many Things’
Roseanne Barr told Rabbi Shmuley Boteach on his podcast over the weekend that she is considering a return to television and has already received several offers.
“Inside every bad thing is a good thing waiting to happen and I feel very excited because I’ve already been offered so many things and I almost already accepted one really good offer to go back on TV and I might do it. But we’ll see,” Barr said.
Roseanne Barrs sitcom “Roseanne” returned in March after a two-decade absence to enormous ratings on ABC. However, ABC abruptly canceled “Roseanne” hours after Ms. Barr, the show’s star and co-creator, posted a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, an African-American woman who was a senior adviser to Barack Obama throughout his presidency and considered one of his most influential aides. Ms. Barr wrote if the “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.”
It is interesting how Barr was hired to resurrect a show I am sure not many asked for, despite her history of insensitive comments. After the racist tweets about Valerie surfaced the show was promptly snatched off the air. And after three months the entertainment industry is itching to hire her again, right after we all brutally crucified her for being racist. It seems that you can get fired on Friday for being racist and get hired again by Monday’s lunch.
Barr is friendly with the media savvy Boteach and made an emotional appearance with him shortly after being fired. Battling through tears, the comedian said she could not be more remorseful.
“I never would have wittingly called any black person . . . a monkey. I just wouldn’t do that. I didn’t do that. And people think that I did that, and it just kills me,” she said. “I’ve made myself a hate magnet.”
ABC has announced that they will keep Roseanne’s show going with the program’s main attraction and will rebrand the series as “The Conners.”

Demetrius Pitts charged in Cleveland bomb plot after FBI sting
There’s no indication the Ohio man could have carried off an attack himself
An Ohio man was charged Monday with plotting a Fourth of July terrorist bombing in Cleveland after a sting operation by the FBI, which gave him a bus pass so he could travel to scope out targets.
“I’m gonna be downtown when the thing go off,” Demetrius Pitts, 48, told an undercover FBI employee posing as an al Qaeda sympathizer, according to a federal complaint. “I’m gonna be somewhere ’cause I wanna see it go off.”
There’s no indication that Pitts could have carried off any attack on his own. The criminal complaint suggests he viewed his role as planning and surveillance and did not want to be involved in obtaining or building any explosives.
Pitts served time in Ohio for a 1989 robbery and pleaded guilty to theft in Ohio in 2007. In 2016, the state of Pennsylvania had asked Ohio to extradite Pitts as a fugitive from charges of assault, robbery and theft.
Court documents say the FBI began paying attention to Pitts in 2015 when he sent a disturbing message to a local TV news program with a Facebook account registered under his alias, Abdur Raheem Rahfeeq.
After more alarming Facebook comments in 2017, the FBI took a closer look and determined that Pitts was interested in joining al Qaeda, training overseas and returning to the U.S. to stage an attack, the complaint said.
An undercover FBI employee met with Pitts and began recording their conversations, in which he fantasized about beheading President Donald Trump, attacking U.S. soldiers, and sowing terror in Cleveland on Independence Day.
“I’m trying to figure out something that would shake them up on the 4th of July,” he said in one recording.
An FBI informant provided Pitts with a bus pass so he could get to downtown Cleveland to take photos of bombing targets. He allegedly pledged allegiance to terrorist leaders in videos made with a cellphone — which was also provided by the FBI. His passcode for the phone wasn’t exactly a stumper: 0704, the date of the supposed attack.
Pitts allegedly also said he was interested in doing reconnaissance in Philadelphia, where he had lived. “Pitts indicated it was his ‘job’ to ‘go look at the base of the ground,’ and that it was up to other ‘brothers’ to complete the other parts of the job,” the complaint said.
“I don’t wanna meet all the Brothers,” he told the undercover FBI employee at one point.
“Now what about the detonator guy?” the FBI employee asked.
“Now I don’t even wanna meet him,” Pitts said. “He has nothing to do with me.
“The only thing I’m going to be responsible for is going to look at the spot, to scope out the scenery,” he added.
He seemed to try his FBI handler’s patience when he suggested at the last minute that they switch from packing the explosives into remote-control cars and instead use a van.
Authorities arrested Pitts on Sunday and charged him with one count of providing material support to a terrorist organization. It was not clear if he had obtained an attorney and NBC News was unable to reach any of his family.
His Facebook pages, which have since been taken down, listed his occupation as a chef. He had left comments about threatening Trump and helping the Taliban on various sites over the last two years.

In a fan video (h/t Daily Beast), fans can be heard chanting the singer’s name while one yells in a thick Polish accent, “You can do it!” The fan who posted the video wrote: “Beyoncé’s flying stage got broken at the end of the show in Warsaw and she had to walk down on a ladder. She also gave us a little cute dance!”

Police say they seized ‘Trump-shaped ecstasy pills’
PERU, Ind. — Some drug traffickers appear to be using President Donald Trump’s image to brand their illegal wares.
An Indiana State Police news release about 129 arrests in a series of drug busts in northern Indiana includes a photo of what police describe as “Trump-shaped ecstasy pills.”
They are orange and stamped with a face. On the back are the words “great again,” an apparent reference to Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
Traffickers sometimes produce uniquely shaped or colored drugs as a marketing technique to encourage buyers to return for more.
Friday’s release doesn’t provide details, including how many of the pills were seized.
The six-day operation in June involved traffic stops by state and city police, as well as sheriff’s departments. LSD, cocaine and other drugs were also seized.
