This week instead of giving you an album of the week I’m going to give you a review of Bandcamp weekly with your host Andrew Jervis. Each week Andrew music choice is beautifully selected. Each week you’ll see a very unique illustration of the featured artist of the week. Bandcamp is a worldwide digital online music and artist promotion platform that sells over 25,000 digital records everyday. Bandcamp’s websites interface is well designed with point, click, play and purchase simplicity.
Mr. Jervis gives us music of his choice just like a DJ AKA Disk Jockey AKA Radio Personality should be able to do. give his audience music that he likes and hopes you’ll like it too. Listening to Bandcamp Weekly is a melting pot of musical culture. We get to hear artists from basically all over the world. All these artists don’t sound the same, These musicians and singers are influenced by and give us Ol’Skool and New Skool Funk, R&B, Jazz, Neo-Soul hip hop/rap, underground hip hop instrumental hip hip, trap conscious hip hop, boom-bap, beat-tape, hardcore, grime alternative, Blues, rock, gospel electronic…..
Bandcamp Weekly gives you whatever music you want and when you want to listen to it. Every time I tune in I hear something different every week. Bandcamp Weekly is my favorite online radio station and store looking at their music collection is mind blowing. Mainstream radio has declined in it’s variety of music and the power of choice has been taken away from the Radio Personalities. As for myself I abandoned mainstream radio since 1998 because I need more flavor and ear poppin’ music to stimulate my life!
