2 toddlers found tied, chained in backyard, Texas deputies say
The deputies knocked on the front door, got no answer, and went around back, using a ladder to look over the fence, James Keith, spokesman for the sheriff’s office, told CNN affiliate KABB.
They saw two toddlers in a state that Keith struggled to describe.
A 2-year-old boy was “chained to the ground as if he was a dog,” he said. “There was no slack in the chain. His pants were down. You could tell he’d been here for a while. And then a short distance away, a 3-year-old girl who was tied to a door with a dog leash who was just exhausted.”
The deputies moved quickly to release the two youngsters, but their work was not finished.
Inside the house, they discovered six children ranging in age from 10 months to 13 years, the release said. There were no adults on site to care for them.
“To describe this as disturbing is an understatement,” Keith said. “It makes you wonder what somebody’s thinking. How could they do this?”
Mother of six of the children charged
Early Friday morning, the parents of the six children who were inside returned to the house, the sheriff’s office said.
The mother, Porucha Phillips, 34 was believed to be responsible for caring for the two toddlers, authorities said. She was charged with injury to a child by omission with serious bodily injury and Injury to a child by omission with bodily injury and is being held in the Bexar County Jail.
Deputies haven’t said they’re searching for the parents of the toddlers found in the backyard.
Child Protective Services was called in. The toddlers were taken to the the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and are recovering, though the girl is in intensive care, Keith said.
CPS said one of them has a fractured right arm and wrist and the other has superficial injuries including abrasions and scarring, CNN affiliate KSAT reported. Six children have been cleared for foster care.
Child Protective Services said it had no prior involvement with the family, KSAT said. Authorities are investigating a report that a day care might have been operating out of the home, KSAT reported.
‘When we heard of it, it was bad’
Neighbors and authorities said they were horrified by the conditions the children were found in.
“When we heard of it, it was bad,” Christina Rivera, who lives nearby, told KSAT. “It was shocking. Especially something happening across the street and we didn’t even know about it or see it.”
Keith said he was glad somebody thought to call the sheriff’s office. He encouraged anybody who ever suspects child abuse to do the same.
“We are grateful that this person was brave enough to call us and that our deputies were able to respond when they did,” he said to KSAT. “I don’t even want to think about how this could have happened, how this could have played out, had our deputies not gotten there when they did.”

Teen Suspect Dead After Shooting Outside High School Prom in Wisconsin; 2 Injured
A teenage accused of shooting two students outside a high school prom in Antigo, Wisconsin, has died, police said Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as 18-year-old Jakob Wagner. He used to attend Antigo High School, police Chief Eric Roller said.
The victims, who were shot as they left a building where they had been celebrating prom, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.
A female victim was treated for a gunshot wound and released, while a male victim was undergoing surgery late Sunday morning.
About 11 p.m. Saturday, Wagner “arrived at the Antigo High School prom with a rifle and began shooting while outside the entrance of the building,” the police statement said.
Officers who were patrolling the parking lot heard the shots, and one of the officers opened fire on the gunman. Wagner was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died at 1:06 a.m. after doctors attempted lifesaving measures, the statement said.
Wagner is believed to be the lone shooter, police said, and investigators were executing a search warrant at his home Sunday.
“All the people within the prom were eventually escorted from the school and are safe,” Roller said.
Sonia Reed, whose son Matthew attended the prom, told WSAW that she was on campus earlier in the evening for the “grand march,” during which students and their dates form a procession and parents cheer them on before the prom king and queen are named.
She estimates that there were 100 to 120 students in attendance and describes the atmosphere as “festive.”
“I didn’t see anything suspicious. I didn’t feel any bad vibes. It seemed like it was going to be a normal prom,” she told the station.
She learned of the incident, she said, when she received a call from another mother who said police were at the school and had “somebody down” in front of the school offices. The person was wearing camouflage pants and a dark top, Reed said. Her son had already left the prom by that time, she said.
Reed, who moved to Antigo from Texas in 2004, said that although she wouldn’t be surprised to hear something like this had happened in a major city, she was stunned it unfolded in Antigo.
Everyone knows each other in the town of 8,000 about 85 miles northwest of Green Bay, she said. She described it as a farm town where many students happily participate in Drive Your Tractor to School Day.
“I have two other children that’s in the high school, and they don’t want to go back, period,” Reed said. “They’re just beyond freaking out here.”

Ghost in the Shell ‘considered CGI to make white actors look Asian’
The filmmakers allegedly ran tests to ‘shift ethnicity’.
Is it really so hard to cast a Asian actor to play the lead anime character Major Motoko Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell? Hollywood would rather spends millions of dollars on CGI (Computer generated imagery) to make a white actress Scarlett Johansson ; cast look Asian then to audition well known or not well known Asian actors;actresses to play Asian people in this film adaptation? Do you Hollywood BIG WHITE BOYS; WOMEN understand that your BIGGEST movie goers who spend much money are the hard working Black folks; other minorities? THANK GOD they allegedly considered using CGI to make white actors look Asian. This is how Paramount responded claiming the CGI tests were for a “background actor” rather than for Johansson. YEAH RIGHT!
Do you remember that Movie Gods of Egypt? You cast all WHITE (all but one) actors and tried to pass them off as historically accurate not to mention the WACK CGI effects. Your movie FLOPPED at the box office. We as ethnic people are not really wanted in their movies but they know they have to have a token black, Asian, Latino, Latina, Puerto Rican. When we are cast we are the criminal, drug addict, the angry black (FAT) black woman, oh I forgot if they do cast a black woman as the lead (Stacy Dash) they have to be light bright and damn near right with the good hair that can be easily flat ironed to be straight as a stick. White Hollywood only sees us as dollar signs, they steal our culture then water it down to suit they taste.
White Hollywood has found away and maybe even a dangerous way to totally get rid of what they see as threat develop technology where we can change the ethnicity of the actresses; actors to WHITE people to fit THEIR vision? We people of color will always be that token unless we stand up and do something about it!
We need to make our OWN tv;movie production companies produce our OWN movies; tv series just like the white hollywood juggernauts. Sadly, BET was OWNED and operated by Black people from 1980-1997 until it was sold to a white owned an operated Corporation Viacom ever since then BET is watered down with nothing but fast money reality shows with black people who have NO control of content there are a lot of our people that are content as long as millions of dollars are thrown at them.
Okay to my 1 trillion dollar spenders in order to make change we must hit ‘em where it hurts it is so true money makes the world go round the world would stop and LISTEN and ACT if we as a people STOPPED spending money where are we are NOT shown as the main character, if we are shown ALWAYS stereotypes then boycott that shit! DON’T SPEND MONEY WHERE YOU ARE NOT UPLIFTED AND SUPPORTED!
REMEMBER NEVER CALL AN ANIME A CARTOON!

Principal Paddles 5-Year-Old Boy – Threatens to Suspend Him if his Mom Didn’t Allow Spanking – #CaughtOnTape
First I’d like to say that this is not the 20th century and I thought corporal punishment ended in the 1980s but from what I’m reading 19 states still uses the paddle mostly in the south. I believe this type of displace is not necessary. I will say looking at the mamas Facebook page this boy just looks bad. Miss Shana Marie Perez seems to really be enjoying the attention. If she really wanted to stop this paddling she had the power to stop it.
Mommy, help me!” 5-year old Thomas cries out in the now-viral two-minute Facebook video, retreating to his mother after the threat of being paddled for spitting on another student in school.
As the boy pleads, Jasper County Primary School Principal Pam Edge says, “He’s getting a spanking. He’s getting a paddling.” She tells the boy he will be hit one time only.
Mom Shana Marie Perez posted her secretly-recorded cellphone video to Facebook Wednesday morning….

Dora The Explorer Actress Caught Vaping At School
Well if this isn’t a shocker I don’t know what is. Looks like Dora has been exploring the world of vaping. Actress Fatima Ptacek and another young girl at her school caught vaping in the bathroom back on December 10.
But here’s the kicker, while the other girl was expelled from the Manhattan Private School. Ptacek received only a 3 day suspension! This is celebrity status at its finest. But this isn’t stopping the other girl’s parents from suing Avenues private school
Parents Nadia Leonelli and Fredrik Sundwal say they their daughter was peer pressured into vaping with the young celebrity.
In court papers, it said “she was approached by her friend, F.P. to go into the bathroom and try smoking flavored water vapor in a ‘vape’ pen that F.P. had borrowed from a fellow 10th grade classmate,”While they say both were punished they say they it wasn’t fairly done because of celebrity status.
The suit also says that M.S. (the young girl) “was reluctant to try but gave in to peer pressure, wanting to appear ‘cool’ in front of F.P. because she is older than M.S. and is a celebrity.
The parents have already spent $10,000 in legal fees and are still fight the school district. This is ridiculous. If this is the case then Ptacek should be expelled also. What did she do in order to get off so easily? Oh that’s right she’s a celebrity therefore lighter punishment. The other girl also needs to learn not to be peer pressured into anything just that person is older and is famous. Parents, teach your kids not to worship celebrities.

2-Year-Old Utah Boy Beaten to Death Over Dirty Diaper; Mother Sentenced
A Utah mother was sentenced to prison Monday in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son, who died last year after allegedly being beaten over a potty training incident, KTLA sister station KSTU reported.
Jasmine Ruth Bridgeman was sentenced to serve up to 15 years in prison, according to the Salt Lake City-area television station. She pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction of justice, a second degree felony, on March 14.
Two-year-old James Sieger Jr. was found unresponsive and covered in bruises when he arrived at Davis County hospital in May 9, 2015.
The boy, who suffered severe internal injuries, died following several surgeries, according to KSTU.
His mother, 24-year-old Jasmine Bridgeman, and her boyfriend, 35-year-old Joshua Schoenenberger, were later taken into custody on suspicion of child abuse, KSTU reported.
According to court documents, the boy had been abused by the pair at Shoenenberger’s home.
Some of the abuse was a result of attempts to potty train the toddler, the documents stated.
Citing jail documents, KUTV reported that the boy defecated in his diaper and the couple became furious, even taking the diaper off and smearing it in his face.
Documents stated Schoenenberger continued to beat the boy while Bridgeman went outside and smoked a cigarette.
“The biological mother did allow significant amount of abuse to go on without intervening, but also engaged in it herself,” said Lt. Travis Lyman of the Layton City Police Department.
Schoenenberger pleaded not guilty Monday to aggravated murder and felony child abuse, the station reported.
He was due back in court on May 9

Ethan Couch, a Texas teenager accused of fleeing to Mexico after using an “affluenza” defense to avoid prison in a fatal drunken-driving crash, will remain in jail for an undetermined number of days while a judge awaits recommendations from prosecutors and defense attorneys, the judge said during a court hearing Wednesday.
The judge eventually will determine how many further days Couch will have to serve in jail as a long-anticipated condition of his probation upon turning 19.
