Florida Gators Football Player Arrested

Well well well, looks like the Gators have been having a rough week. Florida freshman defensive back Deiondre Porter has been suspended indefinitely as of Wednesday after he was arrested for allegedly shooting his pregnant girlfriend. Porter is facing four felony charges, and is being held on a $160,000 bond in the Alachua County Jail.

According to the police report, Porter confronted his girlfriend on the morning of Sept. 29 and accused her of cheating on him with a teammate. She denied the relationship, and Porter then pulled out a gun and pointed it at her head and demanded she tell him the truth. The woman was 10 weeks pregnant, and police said Porter was aware of the baby.

Soon after they fell asleep in separate rooms. Several hours later, Porter continued his accusations, became angry and shot in her direction. The bullet lodged in the wall where she was leaning. Gainesville police later found a bullet hole in the wall near the front door and a .45-caliber shell casing under a chair in the living room.

According to court records Porter has one charge of aggravated battery, firing a weapon into a vehicle or building  and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill . Here is a like to the full article full article
