St. Louis woman accused of assaulting boyfriend, spitting blood on police
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A St. Louis woman is facing four charges after allegedly assaulting her boyfriend and spitting blood on police.
Court documents said Brittany L. Daugherty, 26, admitted she intended to kill her child’s father, Eddie Quinn on January 26, 2015. She drove 80 miles per hour to his workplace, the Salvation Army on Page, then threw a flower vase at the locked glass entrance door, shattering the glass. She then stepped through the broken glass and started punching Quinn in the face with a closed fist. This violated an order of protection she knew was in place.
St. Louis County police records stated officers attempted to arrest Daugherty when she started fighting with officers and spitting blood on them. Police managed to restrain her and put a bag over head to keep her from spitting. Daugherty continued to yell that she had a gun on her and wanted to kill her ex-boyfriend. She also asked the police to shoot her and told paramedics she was bipolar.
Daugherty faces one felony charge for first-degree burglary, one felony charge for second-degree domestic assault, another felony charge for resisting arrest and trying to flee, and a misdemeanor charge for violating an order of protection. Her cash-only bond is set at $50,000.
