100% real as it gets!!
Sesame Street embraces Natural hair
I finally found my Sesame Street Muppet twin lol, one of my Subs on youtube sent me this video and it literally made me want to cry and laugh i’m so happy to see this,
I wish it was around when I was growing up… i had so many issues and insecurities regarding my hair, I am so glad Sesame Street made this video!!
For black women like myself this is a wonderful lesson in embracing our natural hair, society has messed up the mentality of so many black people,
by making us feel that beautiful hair equates straight, long hair, all hair is beautiful regardless of texture, length or how you choose to style it.
and this is what I am taking aways from this video.

In the video it stars a brown skin Muppet rocking an Afro, pink dress, beaded earrings and necklace.
She is singing a tune about loving her curly locks, she is bouncing around and beaming with energy, all the while singing:
“Don’t need a trip to the beauty shop. ‘Cause I love what I got on top. It’s curly and it’s brown and it’s right up there!
You know what I love? That’s right, my hair! I really love my hair!”
“wear a clippy or in a bow or let it sit in an afro, My hair looks good in a cornrow.
It does so many things you know, that’s why I let it grow.”
