Nas “Hip Hop is still DEAD”
May 26th

In 2006 Nas was the first rapper to proclaim that hip-hop was dead, in 2010 Nas’s sentiments have not changed.
According to Nas, “the games’ messed up cause everybody’s gangsta but they prima donnas.”
“it’s a beautiful thing, putting out music” says the rapper, whose been making albums since 1994.
“It ain’t the music business, it’s n*ggas and their sh*t.”
With the release of his new album with Damien Marley, Distant Relatives, Nas has made it clear that something is missing from the hip-hop world and part of that is due to the money hungry atmosphere it encompasses.
No longer are people focused on the elements and what is needed to make good music but the focus has been shifted towards marketing, and how to get the most money.
“If you feel good about it, put that sh*t out” Nas said.
I agree with NAS everything is a gimmick, you don’t have to be talented now a days
it’s all about selling an image or a fake facade…
wocka flacka said it himself “i don’t need no lyrics to be a rapper” ummm what part of the game is that?
I guess it’s true now a days, cus he’s the hottest thing in the south right now.
anyways check out his interview…

She was arrested Wednesday and is being held on $275,000 bond.
She’s facing 13 charges including burglary, attempted burglary and child endangerment.

Dolla’s killer is now a FREE MAN…
May 22nd
The 24-year-old music promoter who has been in jail since May 18th 2009 was released yesterday and walked away a free man.
Berry pleaded not guilty, and testified last week that he acted in self defense. Stating a case that Dolla threatened to kill him and that he believed he had a gun. Prosecutors tried to explain that police never found a weapon on Dolla, and that the gun shot to the head was because the rapper was fleeing. However, the jury believed there was not enough evidence to prove the case.
Berry’s law team emphasized Burton’s music and online videos were examples of his supposed gang ties.
They also said that the altercation of a fight that the two were in at an Atlanta strip club just prior to a shooting, was enough reason that Dolla would have a gun and kill Berry the next time he say him.
All I can say is wow, I guess it’s true if your a murdered rapper, the government really doesn’t care…
Anyways I do think this should be a lesson to everyone who posts videos online
gangbanging and doing stupid ishh, the system is starting to use online videos to show people’s
“true character” so people need to mindful of what they post…cus it can come back to haunt you in a bad way.
R.I.P.Dolla…
This is the video that sealed the deal…ft T.I.
Dolla talking about his beef with 2pistols…they used this video as well.
I wonder if they watched this video…
Here goes the guy that the Detroit police were looking for before Aiyana jones was killed
May 20th

I Have been following the case of Aiyana jones, since the story hit the news
it’s hard to blog about a child’s senseless death
I don’t understand it, nor can i even fathom what her parents and loved ones are going through.
incase your unaware of who this child is, she was a 7yr old little girl who was shot and killed by Detroit police while she slept under her favorite Disney princess blanket on a living room sofa at home.
the police were looking for a murder suspect who was not in Aiyana home…
The Detroit news is finally showing who the murder suspect was, he killed a 17yr old in cold blood
for looking at him wrong…from what i heard on Nancy Grace the 1st 48 were covering this event as well…
it’s sad that everyday our communities are getting worse and worse, we hate the police but as soon as some ishh goes down that’s who we call…it’s a love/hate relationship, i think which ever cop “accidentally” pulled the trigger on that child needs to be locked up! you can’t go around playing Rambo off of an adrenaline rush, you have to use common sense there were toys all over the front yard, that should have alerted them to know that there kids in the home…
anyways check out what the detroit news is saying about the idiot who caused this unfortunate chain of events
he was a 4x felon SMDH what happened to 3strikes your out?
Detroit — The chain of events that led to the police shooting of a sleeping 7-year-old may have begun with an argument over dirty looks in an east-side liquor store parking lot.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy authorized a murder warrant Wednesday against the man police were seeking when they killed Aiyana Stanley Jones while raiding her home early Sunday.
Chauncey Louis Owens, 34, of Detroit will be arraigned today on charges of first-degree murder, being a four-time felony offender and gun charges in connection with Friday’s shooting death of 17-year-old Southeastern High School senior Jean Blake.
“The death of Jerean Blake is as senseless as it can get,” Worthy said. “The allegations are that the defendant killed the 17-year-old high school student because he looked at the defendant the wrong way.”
Blake was shot in front of numerous witnesses in a parking lot on Mack Avenue near St. Jean.
Owens was arrested early Sunday in an upstairs flat at a duplex about two blocks from the store, where members of the Detroit Police Special Response Team simultaneously entered a downstairs unit where Aiyana, three of her young siblings and six adults were sleeping.
The girl’s death during the botched raid has left the city stunned, with one lawmaker calling for a federal probe into the case, and heightened tensions in the community.
“I don’t want to live in the city anymore. I can’t even trust the police. We don’t feel safe sleeping in our house,” said Detroiter Erika Anderson, who stopped by the home on Lillibridge with her two young daughters to lay stuffed toys at the makeshift shrine that has formed in tribute to Aiyana.
“We were moved by what happened to this little girl.”
Geoffrey Fieger on Tuesday filed lawsuits in U.S. District Court and Wayne County Circuit Court on behalf of Aiyana’s family alleging negligence and a cover-up by police he says at first blamed the girl’s grandmother for grabbing at the officer’s gun.
Local leaders responded on Wednesday to the latest incident in a recent surge of gun violence, including the slaying of Police Officer Brian Huff and wounding of four more officers, the killing of 15-year-old honor roll student Avondre Donel as he stood on a friend’s porch, and the death a woman struck inside her own house by a bullet fired by a man chasing a car thief.
Geraldine Jackson, 69, was buried Wednesday.
In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, U.S. Rep. John Conyers asked for an investigation into Aiyana’s death by the federal Justice Department.
“(With) Detroit suffering through a disturbing wave of violence, it is imperative we take all possible steps to calm the situation, reassure the community that their safety is a national priority, and lessen the chance of future bloodshed,” said the Detroit Democrat, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee.
Mayor Dave Bing expressed outrage and sadness Wednesday over the girl’s death. But Bing also suggested Fieger filed the lawsuits for money.
“I doubt very seriously if he knows much about facts,” Bing said. “As an attorney that’s in this to make money, I think he’s setting that up right now. It’s unfortunate that you would use a tragedy like this to incite the community.”
The Rev. Al Sharpton will eulogize Aiyana Jones and denounce both police misconduct and black-on-black violence, saying you “can’t confront one without the other,” a spokeswoman for him said Wednesday.
Sharpton, the chief executive officer of the National Action Network and a high-profile pastor from New York, will offer his words at services that will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Ebenezer Church, 14601 Dequindre.

Houston school teacher beats student…
May 14th

A Houston teacher has been fired after allegations were reported that she physically assaulted a student in her classroom.
According to officials, science teacher Shari Lynn Davis beat and kicked a 13-year-old student in front of his classmates on April 29 after he attacked a female classmate.
Davis states that she “lost it” after 13-year-old Isaiah Johnson made fun of and allegedly hit a mentally challenged student in her class.
Records indicate that after the initial report was filed by the student’s mother, Davis was terminated but no charges were filed until now.
After two weeks, a student leaked the raw footage that was taped using a cell phone during the horrific incident, on the internet. The video taped evidence is exactly what police needed to file formal charges against the teacher.
In addition, the School administrator’s are now looking into the claim that other teachers were present during the fight and did not report it. A letter was also sent to all the student’s parents or guardians that read:
Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
There has recently been an allegation of a teacher physically assaulting a child at our school.
The incident involved a science teacher and an 8th grade student. It occurred on or about April 29. No other children were involved.
Our school takes all such incidents very seriously and immediate action was taken to safeguard our students. When the allegation was first brought to the school’s attention, the accused teacher was immediately removed from the class room and assigned administrative duties. After a thorough investigation, the teacher involved in the incident has been terminated by the school. Further, if any teacher is found to have witnessed the incident and failed to take appropriate action to safeguard the student, disciplinary action against that teacher will be taken.
Educators are entrusted by parents with their children every day and we have a responsibility to see that they are not only taught but treated with respect. This incident violates every principle by which we operate Jamie’s House Charter School and we will continue to work hard to earn your confidence in us.
Yours sincerely
David Jones, Principal
I won’t front some of these bad a** kids do need their butts whooped, but it’s up to their
parents, not their teachers…. as adults we have to be able to keep our emotions in check,
she could have very easily/seriously hurt that boy, the way she was slamming his head in to the ground…
i think the whole situation was sad and needed to be handled better.

Dolla’s murder trial begins
May 6th

It’s almost been a year since Dolla was gunned down in LA by Aubrey Berry.
As a Dolla fan, I was anticipating the release of his new album…
I believe the entire killing was senseless and goes on to further perpetuate black on black killings.
regardless of the out come of this trial, no one really wins… both families have lost a son.
Dolla could have made it very far musically, but unfortunately like so many males in our community
his life was cut short, behind some nonsense.
http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/dolla-murder-trial-begins-520144.html
A defense attorney countered that the shooting by defendant Aubrey Louis Berry of Snellville was an act of self-defense after he was threatened by rapper Roderick Anthony Burton II, known as Dolla.
The conflicting accounts came during opening statements in the latest trial involving the death of a rapper.
Burton, 21, was considered a protege of Akon and had released two songs with the hip-hop star. He was touring and working on his first studio album at the time of his death.
Burton joined a growing list of slain rappers, including Tupac Shakur in 1996, the Notorious B.I.G. in 1997, Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC in 2002 and Deshaun “Proof” Holton in 2006.
Authorities said bad blood developed between Burton and Berry nearly two weeks earlier, when they scuffled in a strip club in Atlanta, where both lived.
It was chance that brought them both to Beverly Center in Los Angeles on May 18, 2009. Both had been eating with friends before the shooting occurred in the valet area of the mall.
Deputy District Attorney Robert Grace told jurors Berry fired eight shots at Burton and his friends. Burton was hit by four bullets — three in the back — as he tried to run from Berry, Grace said in his opening statement.
After the shooting, Berry got his car and drove around Burton as he was dying, the prosecutor said.
“Roderick was senselessly gunned down by Aubrey Berry in a hail of gunfire,” Grace said.
Defense attorney Howard Price told jurors Burton had threatened Berry and may have been reaching for a gun.
Burton told Berry, “‘Today, you’re going to die,’” Price said in court.
No weapon was recovered on Burton, but Price said his friends had moved the body and didn’t cooperate with arriving officers.
Price said he planned to introduce some of Burton’s lyrics as evidence to show the rapper cultivated a violent image.
Berry, 24, has pleaded not guilty to one count of murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He watched quietly Tuesday as Grace described the shooting.
At several points, the prosecutor used his hands to simulate a gun and show jurors how witnesses described Berry methodically aiming and firing at Burton and others.
Price later countered that his client was “not a marksman.”
With the jury absent, Superior Court Judge David S. Wesley denied a motion by Price to tell jurors Burton had been arrested in Georgia in 2008 for carrying a concealed weapon.
The judge said the arrest didn’t demonstrate that Burton has a “character trait for violence,” and that Berry didn’t know about the case at the time of the shooting.
The trial was expected to last a week.
MO’NIQUE ISN’T HAPPY WITH HER BROTHER’S INTERVIEW ON OPRAH
Apr 25th

Apparently when Mo’Nique gave Oprah Winfrey her blessing to interview her family, she didn’t think it would turn out the way it did.
According to Radar Online, the Oscar winning actress is very unhappy with the way Oprah’s interview with her brother Gerald Imeswent.
he molested her repeatedly when they were younger.
Although Winfrey asked Mo’Nique if it was okay if Imes appeared on her show the actress felt that he lied during the interview and it was not sympathetic enough towards her.
Winfrey who also suffered sexual abuse wanted to make sure that the Precious star fully understood what her estranged brother would say after he originally approached her to appear on the show.
On the show which aired on Monday Imes confirmed that the molestation continued for a year or two, starting when he was 13 and Mo’Nique was 7 or 8.
A source close to Mo’Nique told RadarOnline.com: “Gerald actually made the first move and called Oprah asking her if he could appear on the show. “So, Oprah called Mo’Nique to see if she was okay about him appearing on her show to discuss the abuse and although she was not entirely happy about it she gave Oprah her blessing.”
Imes said he decided to appear on Winfrey’s show to apologize to Mo’Nique and bring their family back together. Imes said he himself was molested and he was using drugs and alcohol at age 11.
He said: “I abused and betrayed the trust of another sibling, my sister, my blood sister,
I’m sorry, Mo’Nique. I’m sorry. Hopefully somewhere, somehow as siblings we can come back together as brother and sister.”
well according to Radar Online the relationship with both her brother and her parents, who also appeared on the episode, is now worse than ever.
The source added: “Oprah and Mo’Nique were never the best of friends…
Mo’Nique was less than impressed with how the interview played out,
she felt that her brother lied and that it was not sympathetic enough towards her.
“She was particularly upset that Gerald lied to Oprah that he molested her while she was sleeping because she was wide awake and scared of him.
she is also angry that he did not get any help or enter rehab and she does not trust him around children. Oprah asked her to appear on her show again for another interview but at this point she has declined the invitation.
If anything it has made the situation worse between Mo’Nique and her family
and she doesn’t know if she will ever speak to them again.

personally I think this sick MOFO, was not only cocky and arrogant
but i feel he is some how looking for his 15 mins of fame.
he was very defensive, and i don’t feel that he was very apologetic.
Oprah shouldn’t have done the show… this was simply for ratings,
and basically it makes it seem like this type of behavior is ok,
because he was never charged or locked up for his crime,
nor has he received any type of counseling.
i wouldn’t have him around my kids either,
i don’t blame Mo’Nique for being stand-offish.
