Near riot breaks out in ATL over section 8

A near riot took place in Atlanta after city officials staged an event to hand out applications for section 8 housing.
Police estimate that 30,000 people showed up at an East Point shopping mall in hopes of being placed on a waiting list for federal housing assistance.
The number was three times what officials expected and only 13,000 applications were handed out to those waiting.
11Alive reports that a line for the applications began two days ago and grew into hundreds of people late Tuesday night.
Officials report that some hopeful residents slept outside of the shopping mall that houses popular nightclub Central Station despite being told that the line was unnecessary and everyone would be serviced.
East Atlanta Housing Authority was stationed inside the club and on Wednesday morning when the doors did not open at 9 a.m. as promised, hundreds of people became enraged and a riot nearly took place.
Witnesses report that several children and adults were hospitalized from the heat but no one was seriously injured.

NYC Settles Sean Bell Case For $7 Million

The city of New York has agreed to award family and friends of Sean Bell $7 million for the fatal shooting of the unarmed Black man on his wedding day.
The settlement filed Tuesday will pay $3.25 million to the estate of Sean Bell and $3 million to Joseph Guzman and $900,000 to Trent Benefield, two of Bell’s friends that were with him injured in the shooting.
The lawsuit filed by Bell’s fiancé Nicole Paultre-Bell accused the city of wrongful death, negligence, assault and civil rights violations.
The city’s attorney Michael A. Cardozo released a statement on the case saying,
“We hope that all parties can find some measure of closure by this settlement.”
Nicole Paultre-Bell also spoke on the settlement and says no amount of money can reverse the pain.
“No amount of money can provide closure, no amount of money can make up for the pain. We’ll just try to learn how to live with it and move on.”
Three police officers were acquitted of multiple charges including manslaughter in 2008 for the 2006
shooting of Bell, as he left his bachelor party on his wedding day.
Officers fired 50 shots into Bell’s vehicle outside of a NYC gentleman’s club, one even stopped to reload
before firing 31 shots into the unarmed Black man’s car.
As previously reported Officer Michael Carey filed a countersuit against the Bell estate claiming that he “suffered severe leg injuries” after an intoxicated Bell struck him with his car during the melee.

needs to sit down somewhere, at least he’s here to see another day smh…
when I think about the situation, it’s truly a miracle that all of the men in the car
were not killed, it’s a sad situation all the way around.
14 year old kills a man for 4 dollars

Harleme Larry, A 14-year-old from Florida has bee charged with first degree murder
he robbed and killed a man for $4. Larry is accused of shooting and killing 31-year-old Agustine Hernandez.
Investigators say that Larry admitted to committing the crime for four dollars.
Larry had a .45 caliber handgun when he saw Hernandez standing along Oak Street
in Dade City, according to the arrest report.
Larry then allegedly approached him, opened fire, and then ran home.
Larry confessed to deputies he later threw the murder weapon into a lake.
According to police records, Larry has been arrested before on minor misdemeanors.
This is horrible all this over $4 this world is getting worse and worse smdh.

There is going to be a tribute that will take place in Vegas on Saturday, Joe, Katherine and Latoya Jackson have all confirmed they’ll be attending. During the event, Trent Jackson will be performing a special serenade.
Jackson’s children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, will be in Hawaii, away from all of it. The family wants to provide the kids with a peaceful, quiet time away from the press on the anniversary of their father’s passing, family friends reveal.
Earlier this week, video surfaced of Katherine urging fans to attend a fan tribute event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. will present “Forever Michael,” a red carpet event to pay tribute to the King Of Pop on the anniversary of his death. Katherine also invites fans to buy her new book,’Never Can Say Goodbye…. mean while Joe Jackson is suing Dr. Conrad Murry for a cool 75k…
I see everyone is still trying to cash in on his legacy smh.

Teen Girl Arrested For Throwing Her Baby Away in Dumpster

Houston Police have arrested a 14-year-old girl who gave birth to a baby then threw it in a trash can after the child suffocated.
According to police the unidentified child gave birth to her newborn on April16 at a friend’s house. No adults were present, only the 14-year old and her two 11-year old friends. Police state that the kids researched child birth on Youtube, to deliver the baby.
After the baby was delivered is when police state that the crime took place as the kids left the child alive on a mattress “for some time” before the child suffocated after his head was covered with the amniotic sac.
After the children assumed the baby was dead, the teen wrapped her child in a trash bag and threw him in a dumpster.
“We were a little surprised ourselves that these kids gave birth in an apartment,” Senior Officer C.P. Abbey said. “Our question to them was, ‘How did you know how to do this?’ and they said they had looked it up on a computer.”
Police state that although the kids didn’t call 911, they did notify an adult neighbor who told police he put the baby in a large trash bin and in attempt to hide the crime also discarded clothing, bed linens and the mattress.
Police began investigating after one of the 11-year-olds told an elementary school counselor she witnessed the death a week earlier. The counselor, a former Houston police officer, called police.
Although the incident happened in April, police state that the arrest was not able to be made until they not only identified the mother of the child, but also talked to witnesses due to the baby’s body being dumped in the landfill and inability to be recovered.
The 14-year-old mother was charged Monday with a felony charge of injury to a child, police said. She is in the custody of Harris County’s juvenile probation department, spokeswoman Kendall Mayfield said.
The neighbor has not been charged, but the “possibility exists,” Abbey said.
The infant’s father is also a juvenile, but was not present at the birth and has not been charged.
This story just broke my heart, i feel so bad for the baby, the teen mom, her 11 yr old friends…

The picture shows Coleman in a hospital bed with a bandaged head and tubes attached to his body while his ex-wife Shannon Price poses next to him.
She was divorced from the 42-year-old actor but the two shared a home together in Utah when he suffered a fall on May 26 that caused his brain hemorrhage….
She has already admitted to selling the pictures,
she said she was broke and couldn’t get enough donations for his funeral,
I believe Jane Velez-Mitchell stated it yesterday on her show…
regardless of the reason this chick is sick you just don’t do that.
i know Gary must be spinning in his grave,
it’s shame that the globe would be willing to buy the pictures from her…
I guess at the end of the day it’s about money,
the globe will sell the most issues this week, because we have a sick and morbid

Todd Bridges, Gary Coleman’s former co-star, dropped a bombshell in an exclusive RadarOnline.com interview, revealing the 42-year-old died with a pension from the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists that he estimates could be worth millions.

The BP oil spill is getting worse

with every passing day the news gets worse and worse from the Gulf Coast,
more and more pictures are emerging of animals drenched in crude oil.
Every attempt to stop the oil spill has failed thus far, and it seems like all the
oil companies want to do is fight and play the blame game…
this mess is crazy, these are the animals that we can see, imagine all the shrimp, fish and seafood that’s down there stuck in the oil as well…
i’m sure that seafood is going to triple this year smh.

Rue McClanahan passes away

Rue McClanahan, better known as Blanche Devereaux on The Golden Girls,
passed away yesterday her longtime friend and co-star Betty White made the announcement
she stated: “It hurts more than I even thought it would, if that’s even possible.”
McClanahan’s acting career lasted more than 40 years, ranging from laugh-out-loud comedies to touching dramatic roles. Whatever project she took on, it was heartfelt and often surprising.
I remember when i first watched the Golden girls with my mom, i was about 7 or 8 and iv’e been in love with the show ever since, now that i’m older i watch it all the time on oxygen.
it’s sad that Betty White is the last one left, but at least they all lived long lives.

C-Dove’s DNA test results

Brandy and Ray J’s illegitimate brother Danyelle “C-Dove” Brown took his DNA test this may 24th to prove once and for all that Big Willie Norwood is indeed his father.
Brandy and Ray J’s mother Sonja has already made her feelings known that she doesn’t acknowledge him although Ray has met his big brother before.
If you all remember C-Dove made a video in april where he asked his father to come to ATL to take a DNA test, well willie norwood didn’t show up..#notshocked!
If C-dove is willie’s son then shame on Willie for perpetrating like he’s a family man when he refuses to acknowledge his own son.
At the end of the day C-dove is a 35 yr old man, who is a father of 3 himself
does he deserve closure yes, but you can’t force someone to love you or except you as their child…
I believe that C-dove now needs to put all his time and energy in to his own kids and make sure to break the cycle, and always be there for his children.
It’s funny how they had the same story line on Moesha where her dad on the show ended up having a child by someone else.
(and that child happened to be ray j’s character)….
