Jun 10th

The “Right Round” rapper was booked for driving with a blood alcohol content of double the legal limit.
Pop rapper Flo Rida was arrested earlier this morning for driving while intoxicated in Miami Beach.
Flo was allegedly driving around in a red-and-black Bugatti, estimated around $1.7 million, when police pulled him over for swerving in his lane.
Cops smelled alcohol during the stop and gave Flo, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, a “walk the line” sobriety test.
Upon attempting the test, he replied, “Officer I can’t do this. I don’t feel I can’t walk a straight line. I had a few drinks. Let’s try another test.”
After he failed, police arrested him on DUI and took him to a station around 3:30 A.M. where he is currently being booked.
Flo’s blood alcohol level was supposedly at .185, more than double the legal limit.

The Supreme Court said it will not hear Wesley’s claim that his rights were violated in the tax case that lead to his 3-year sentence.

Wiz Khalifa Holding Off On Mixtapes, Speaks On Snoop Dogg Film
Jun 9th

The Taylor Gang leader explains that he’s falling back from releasing new music so he can focus on his tour and movie with Tha Doggfather.
Wiz Khalifa stopped by for a live interview earlier today, discussing his upcoming film with Snoop Dogg and why he’s falling back from mixtapes for a while.
During the interview, the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native spoke on his upcoming stoner comedy High School, co-starring Snoop Dogg and featuring an original collaborative soundtrack.
“It’s a great buddy film. Snoop’s a cool guy in school and I’m kind of like the nerd. I cover up my tattoos and everything,” he said. “I didn’t take it all the way there, but my character, you can really see what I’m going through. But it’s tight. You get to see both of us change and learn a lot and it’s good for both crowds. It’s not just a one-sided movie.”
The two don’t have a defintive release date for the film, but they’ve been working on their joint LP in Snoop Dogg’s home and in the studio. “It’s really just me and Snoop going back and forth,” he said. “We’re just doing things that people aren’t doing these days.”
With his debut album Rolling Papers in stores, Wiz is holding off on putting out any new mixtapes or projects in the near future so he can focus on the movie and his upcoming tour. “A lot of visuals for people. The movie thing is really, really big right now, and just trying to expand my brand. Get more people onto what I’m doing, because it’s still new to a lot of people,” he said. “I’m always recording new music. I was in the studio with Big Sean last night. I think for a minute, I think I’m going to have people be satisfied with features and hold out on projects until it’s time.”
Can’t wait for the Snoop Dogg film to be released!

Nicki Minaj is currently compiling her fantasy list of people in Hollywood with whom she’d like to work. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the Harajuku Barbie explained that with her background in acting, she’d love to appear on the silver screen alongside Will Smith and with Tim Burton in the director’s chair.
“I want to work with Will Smith, because he’s a very successful rapper turned actor and therefore a role model,” she said. “And Tim Burton because I love his crazy imagination. He comes up with these characters that are just so fascinating and the costumes and just creates these whole worlds.”

It just fell in my lap,” she continued. “So I would like to get an acting gig. I hope that when I am done with the tour I can go back and do some acting. That is my long-term goal.”
I wish Will Smith could come back to the rap game, a collaboration would be good with Nicki Minaj
Lil Wayne Discusses MTV2 Unplugged Performance, Covering 2Pac
Jun 9th

Lil Wayne is currently gearing up for the debut of his “MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged” performance, but before the special airs, he’s addressing his detractors. Weezy recently spoke with MTV about those who might change their opinion of him once they see him in action.
“I’d say thank you very much and please tune into my ‘Unplugged’ and understand why I was given the opportunity to have an ‘Unplugged,’” he said. “I believe that the ‘Unplugged’ stage is a platform for you to show and prove to people that don’t know too much about you. Actually, people that may have thought otherwise about you.”
He also explained why he chose to cover 2Pac’s “Hail Mary” during his performance. “I chose the Tupac song ‘Hail Mary’ because I thought that it was very similar to my situation that I was just recently in. I was just incarcerated and ‘Pac was incarcerated. There’s a whole bunch of similarities between ‘Pac and I, and I just thought it was the perfect song. I had to give a tribute to the people who did what I do so much better than I do.”
Catch the special airing this Sunday, June 12th at 9pm ET on MTV and MTV2.
Everybody wants to be Pac, but nobody wanna feel them shoes before they feel them shots… DJ Quik said it best!
Kid Cudi Talks About Marijuana Drug Usage
Jun 9th

Kid Cudi talks his latest video “Marijuana” and why he stopped smoking weed.
Last week, Kid Cudi debuted the Shia LeBouf-directed video for his song “Marijuana,” off The Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager. Now, in a recent interview with MTV, the former Lonely Stoner talks about the process that went into making the video. He said that the video, which was shot at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam where he was a judge, was a last hurrah for his days of smoking that sticky-icky.
“Something I decided before was that I decided to quit smoking marijuana,” he explained. “However, I didn’t want to deprive people of the footage…[and] the video because of my personal decisions. It was almost like an R.I.P. video to my whole smoking career, because that was a big, big, memorable moment for me and watching it reminds me of those good times we had…it’s kind of like the last hurrah, the last time you’ll ever see me smoking, and it was like the peak. People were like, ‘Why’d you quit?’ It’s like, ‘Man, you know, I’ve been doing it for a while.’ I went to Amsterdam. It doesn’t get much higher than that.”
Cudi also discussed his decision to quit smoking weed, which he announced this past April. He said that the decision came out of his desire to become more mature in his life. He also added that if fans can’t respect his personal desicion to quit, then they are not his real fans.
“There were a lot of write-ups where people were just shitting on it and there were a lot of people who were like, ‘We liked you better when you were on drugs,’” he said. “It’s kinda like, ‘Man, OK, well you weren’t a fan to begin with so fuck you,’ and I like myself better off drugs. So it’s about me and it’s about evolving and it’s about change. It’s about becoming a man; it’s about becoming mature.”
I guess everyone that smokes Marijuana thinks it’s cool and won’t effect you in the long run, better think twice .

Jun 9th

Ice-T brings out the big guns for his upcoming documentary “The Art of Rap.”
Between starring roles in New Jack City and “Law and Order: SVU” and his wife Coco’s new reality TV show “Ice Loves Coco: Baby Got Backstory,” Ice-T has become one of Hip Hop’s accomplished actors. Now, the west coast rapper is stepping behind the camera for the first time with a new documentary titled The Art of Rap.
Ice-T has enlisted 50 different emcees, including Eminem, Kanye West and many others, to discuss the science behind their lyrical craft. He said that the current influence of pop music in Hip Hop led him to want to make a film discussing the serious art of rhyming.
“I’ve interviewed 50 emcees – everybody – [from] Kanye West, Ice Cube, Eminem to Melle Mell, Grandmaster Caz,” explained Ice. “The Hip Hop scene [has] bec[o]me so pop. I was like, ‘I’m gonna do a movie about real rappers and what inspired us.’ Maybe that’ll hit a reset button on the game and let these kids know it’s not just about a pop record. Rap can do a lot.”
The Art of Rap also features appearances from rap veterans like Ice Cube, Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz and Immortal Technique.
Ice T is a good actor, I can’t wait for this documentary to be released .
