T.J. Lane shoot up his high school

CHARDON, Ohio (AP) – The 17-year-old suspect in a deadly shooting rampage at an Ohio high school appeared briefly in juvenile court as residents of the shaken community offered sympathy and support for families and friends of the three students who were killed and two who were wounded.
A prosecutor described suspect T.J. Lane as “someone who’s not well” and said the teen didn’t know the victims but chose them randomly.
Lane admitted taking a .22-caliber pistol and a knife to the 1,100-student Chardon High School and firing 10 shots at a group of students sitting at a cafeteria table Monday morning, prosecutor David Joyce said.
Authorities offered their own condolences Tuesday and shared a nugget of welcome news, announcing that an 18-year-old girl who was hurt in the shootings had been released from the hospital and was home with family. The second injured teen remained in serious condition at a suburban Cleveland hospital.
Those trying to understand what prompted the shootings got few answers from the court hearing, which came hours after the death toll rose to three.
Lane, a thin young man described by other students as extremely quiet, spoke little in court, where a judge ordered him held for at least 15 days.
Lane’s grandfather, who has custody of the teenager, and two aunts joined him in court. The women lightly embraced the older man as the hearing began.
Prosecutors have until Thursday to bring charges and are expected to ask that Lane be tried as an adult. He will probably be charged with three counts of aggravated murder and other offenses, Joyce said.
The prosecutor appeared to rule out rumors and speculation that the young gunman lashed out after being bullied or that the shooting had something to do with drug-dealing.
“This is not about bullying. This is not about drugs,” Joyce said. “This is someone who’s not well, and I’m sure in our court case we’ll prove that to all of your desires and we’ll make sure justice is done here in this county.”
Joyce would not elaborate. Both sides in the case are under a gag order imposed by the judge at the prosecutor’s request.
The judge also barred media outlets from taking photos of the faces of the suspect and some of his relatives. The Associated Press transmitted photos and video of Lane that were shot before the hearing. The AP and at least one other media outlet, The Plain Dealer of Cleveland, plan to challenge the judge’s order Wednesday.
Meanwhile, area schools offered grief counseling to students, staff and others shocked by the rampage.
“We’re not just any old place, Chardon,” Chardon School Superintendent Joseph Bergant II said. “This is every place. As you’ve seen in the past, this can happen anywhere, proof of what we had yesterday.”
Authorities said Tuesday that Demetrius Hewlin, 16, and Russell King Jr., 17, had died from their injuries. Daniel Parmertor, 16, died shortly after the shooting.
Hewlin attended Chardon High. King and Parmertor were students at the Auburn Career Center, a vocational school, and were waiting in the Chardon High cafeteria for their daily bus when they were shot.
Parmertor had just gotten his first job at a bowling alley and couldn’t stop talking about how excited he was to pick up his first paycheck later this week, his parents said.
Instead, Bob and Dina Parmertor are considering burying the check with the body of their son.
“That’s all he was talking about,” Dina Parmetor said Wednesday on NBC’s Today show. “`Mom, when I get home from school on Thursday, can you take me to pick it up?”‘
Bob Parmertor said his son was a happy kid, always fun to be around, and fond of teasing him because he was taller.
The shooting killed two other students, while another student, Nick Walczak, remains in serious condition in Hillcrest Hospital in suburban Cleveland. Suspect T.J. Lane has admitted firing at a group of students. A judge ordered the teen held for at least 15 days.

Singer Chris Brown snatched a fan’s phone after she took a photo of him outside the South Beach club Cameo, telling her emphatically that she would not post his picture “on no website,” then drove off, Miami Beach Police said.
Brown’s eager fan, a 24-year-old Miami woman, told police that she was inside Cameo during the wee hours Sunday when she saw Brown, 22, and fellow artist Tyga leaving the nightclub at 1445 Washington Ave. through a side door.
The woman, Christal Spann, and her friends followed Brown and rapper Tyga outside, where she saw him get into his black Bentley, according to a Miami Beach Police report. Spann approached Brown and took a photo with her $500 white iPhone 4S while he was sitting in his car.
Then the surly hip-hop star reached through the window, took her cell phone from her hands, and said, “B**** you ain’t going to put that on no website,” Spann told police.
He put up his window, drove west on Espanola Way, and north on Washington Avenue, police said.
Police responded at 4:43 a.m. They listed the offense as a “robbery by sudden snatching,” and said the incident would be further investigated.
Police said the state attorney’s officeis preparing the arrest warrant for Brown. Tyga wasn’t implicated, they said. Authorities say they don’t believe Brown in still in Miami.

Billboard Writes Rihanna A Open Letter

Music site Billboard have penned a controversial open letter to Rihanna, after rumours surfaced that the singer has used her ex Chris Brown on a remix of her latest single Birthday Cake.
Jason Lipshutz of Billboard, penned the letter that calls on Rihanna to consider her actions more carefully as she is a role model now for young women- especially those in turbulent relationships.
In part of the two page letter, Lipshutz writes, “…
like it or not, millions of people are paying attention to you, trying to be as cool as you, attempting to find love in a hopeless place and wondering if it’s okay to walk down the same dark alleyway twice.”
“Young girls look up to people like you to guide them through circumstances too complex for them to tackle on their own, and by granting Chris Brown an iota of tolerance, you implicitly encourage others to consider doing the same.”
Jason then finishes the passionate letter saying, “If you continue letting Chris Brown slither into your work or personal life, nothing tremendous will happen- bloggers will blog and a backlash will form, but you’ll no doubt continue ruling the Hot 100 and the world will keep spinning.”
He added, “Yet if you grit your teeth, sacrifice instinct and decide to inspire… even three years removed from that horrific incident, that “f**k yourself” moment, that public banishment of the man who physically attacked you, will still resonate with so many people looking for their own morsel of strength.”

300lb Man Shops Naked At Wal-Mart

Police responded to Wal-Mart for a report of a naked male walking into the store.
He was inside the store, wearing only a pair of allegedly stolen socks.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound man refused to comply with verbal commands and required a Taser to be taken into custody.
Taylor then began spitting at the officers, hitting one officer in the face. Police said surveillance video from Wal-Mart showed Taylor exiting a vehicle in the parking lot and removing all of his clothes. He entered the store naked and approached the customer-service counter where he purloined a pair of socks, placed them on his feet, and walked further into the store. The video showed shoppers avoiding Taylor as he sauntered through the store, police said.

Bobby Brown and Oprah release statements about Whitney

Bobby Brown said in a statement Sunday: “I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi Kristina. I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time.”
Meanwhile, her mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston, issued the following: “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney. This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends.”
Brown’s written statement comes the morning after he performed with his New Edition bandmates Saturday, just hours after hearing the tragic news. During the show, he told the audience: “I will always love you, Whitney. The hardest thing for me to do is to come on this stage.” Brown was married to Houston for 15 years before their 2007 divorce.
Warwick, to overwhelmed for words, simply tweeted a sad face emoticon.
Winfrey, who sat down on her talk show with Houston back in 2009, also honored the singer via Twitter.
“To me Whitney was THE VOICE,” the media mogul wrote Sunday. “We got to hear a part of God every time she sang. Heart is heavy, spirit grateful for the GIFT of her.
And that was just the beginning.
Houston’s dear friend, Winans, who is also Bobbi Kristina’s godmother, issued this statement to E! News:
“I have no words to express how I feel. Whitney was not just a friend but a sister and I am going to miss her voice, her humor but mostly her friendship. She was undoubtedly one of the greatest singers of all time but she was also a great person. Please keep her family in prayer and the best way to honor her is to be reminded that tomorrow is not promised to any of us so love God and love each other.”
Stars like Houston’s Preacher’s Wife and Waiting to Exhale costar Loretta Devine also paid tribute to the legendary performer.
Loretta Devine: “I am overwhelmed. I cannot wrap my mind around this. Bobbi Kristina rushed to the hospital

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, seems to be taking her mother’s death the hardest.
Beverly Hills Police told ABC News that an ambulance was called this morning to the Beverly Hilton Hotel,
where Bobbi Kristina was staying with her mother, in response to a concern about her health. The 18-year-old was said to be suffering from anxiety.
According to a press release sent to ABC News, Bobbi Kristina was transported from the hotel at 10:26 a.m. local time to Cedars-Sinai Hospital and was “awake and alert” at the time.
A family source told ABCNews.com that she was being “treated for stress and anxiety.”
Earlier, TMZ reported that Bobbi Kristina got into a shouting match with police officers outside her mother’s fourth floor hotel room
when they informed her no one was allowed in. TMZ said she “screamed, cursed and demanded to see her mother” before ultimately leaving.
Houston’s cousin Dionne Warwick was also turned away by officers, according to TMZ.
Gay Atlanta Beating Victim Speaks Out

The Atlanta man who was the victim of a brutal anti-gay attack caught on tape has spoken out publicly about the incident, telling reporters that he is still shaken by everything, and the “scars run deeper than anyone will know.”
20-year-old Brandon White says he didn’t want to contact police at first, but he changed the mind after he learned that the recorded video footage from the attack — which saw him being beaten and hit over the head with a car tire outside a neighborhood grocery store — had gone viral on the internet after being posted to World Star Hip Hop.
“At first I was embarrassed,” White told reporters in Atlanta on Wednesday (Feb 8). “But if they are willing to put it out there, I’m going to face it.”
He continued, “By them going ahead and putting it on the Internet, I feel that they wanted the attention. They wanted to make themselves look like they were brave or strong, but in my opinion, I’m the brave one.”
In the video, which was reportedly recorded on Saturday (Feb 4) and uploaded to the Internet the following Monday, White and an unidentified friend can be seen walking out of a grocery store.
Within seconds, a man comes out of nowhere and punches White right in the face, knocking him the ground. White is then brutally attacked by three men, who punch him and stomp him while he tries to cover his head.
One of the attackers — who is wearing a t-shirt with the words “Jack Gang” written on the back — even throws a tire at White, striking him in the head.
While the purported gang members are beating the young man, the camera man, laughing, says several times, “No faggots in Jack City!” Another nearby onlooker can be heard saying, “No faggots, man.”
White, who confirmed that he is gay, said that he was still shaken by the violent gang assault, but did not go into further detail regarding what lead up to the attack.
“The scars run deeper than anyone will know,” he said. “The physical pain, I can get over that. My thing is: Who’s to say they won’t come after me again? Who’s to say they won’t kill me?”
As we reported yesterday, the feds have launched an investigation to uncover details regarding the incident.
The men in the video still haven’t been identified, and police are still asking anyone with any information about the incident to call Zone 3 officers at 404-624-0674, or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
