Fantasia says she wanted to kill herself
Aug 23rd

sits down with people magazine to do a interview….
She states she knew exactly what she was doing. (She wanted to die. )
“I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out,” the American Idol winner, 26, tells VH1 in a new Behind the Music interview, airing 9 p.m. ET/PT Tuesday, the same day her new album, Back to Me, is released. “At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive].”
She continues: “I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”
Barrino’s manager, Brian Dickens, recalls finding her lying on the floor in her room. “Her emotions were extremely low,” he says. “She’d been crying all day. Fantasia was just numb. Fantasia texted me, saying ‘I love you.’ I wrote back, ‘I love you more.’ Then it hit me.”
“I wrote, ‘You better not do anything or think about doing anything stupid.’ And I left it at that. About 10 minutes later, Fantasia texted me back, and she said, ‘Already did.’ I went into Fantasia’s room and saw her on the floor, and my heart just dropped.”
What made the successful singer, who’s preparing to release her third album, want to end her life? “I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly, over and over again, dealing with my family – my father, dealing with men and their [expletive] – I was tired,” she says. “My head was hurting me. I was over it.”
Affair with Antwaun Cook
To complicate matters even more, Barrino is now being threatened with a lawsuit by Paula Cook,
the wife of Antwaun Cook, with whom Fantasia had been having an affair.
“When I met him, he was separated … wasn’t living in his home. He didn’t want to be back with his wife – that is what I was told,” Barrino says. “I remember waking up in the hospital [and thinking], ‘It didn’t work, I’m still here in this hellhole. Still here with all this drama going on.’ ”
Ultimately, the singer says the saving grace was her nurse. “My nurse Melanie was a blessing into my life because she didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear,” she says. “She told me what I needed to hear. And she looked at me and said, ‘You gotta get up, and you’ve gotta get out of here, ’cause you haven’t fulfilled your destiny.’ ”
“I realized how people end up in the grave. Because that one moment [snaps her fingers] of just breaking or feeling like I can’t,
I can’t go on, it’s too heavy. That was somewhere I don’t ever want to go again.”
Is Mariah Carey Pregnant?
Aug 23rd

A video clip of Mariah Carey singing “We Belong Together” during a show in São Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday (Aug. 21) surfaced on the net over the weekend, it show Mariah rocking a visibly larger and rounder in the belly, fueling even more speculation that she is pregnant.
The clip was taken at the Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro de Barretos (Barretos Cowboy Festival), it has yet to be confirmed whether or not Mariah is with child.
Her Twitter account has also fueled rumors, as she tweeted post-show:
“Seriously, I really do love it here, beautiful people inside and out! Tonite was tuff 4 me 4 personal reasons, but U got me thru! L4L.”
Wyclef plans to appeal his ban on Haiti Presidential Candidacy
Aug 23rd

“After careful consideration and much soul-searching, I have made the decision to contest Haiti’s board of election’s pronouncement stating that I am ineligible to run for the presidency of the country,” Mr. Jean said. “I will be seeking a solution through legal channels, and I urge my countrymen to be patient through this process.”
Mr. Jean told the Associated Press Sunday that he qualified to run and that the government’s decision to bar him from the race was based on politics.
Late Friday, the Haitian government commission in charge of the election released a list of eligible candidates that didn’t include Mr. Jean. Under Haitian law, Mr. Jean needed to prove he had five consecutive years of residency before election day.
Mr. Jean was born in Haiti, but moved to the U.S. when he was a child and was raised there. He rose to fame in the 1990s as a vocalist with hip-hop act The Fugees, and has been active in Haitian social causes since.
Over the weekend, United Nations peacekeepers mobilized in Port-au-Prince in anticipation of unrest related to the announcement. “We are aware that the release of the list of prospective candidates could cause rallies or [a] mass movement,” said Jean-François Vezina, a spokesman for the United Nations police.
Mr. Jean earlier said he had been “drafted” by Haitian’s youth, leading to speculation of big protests.
Witnesses in Port-au-Prince said the streets of the city were relatively calm Sunday.
On Thursday, Mr. Jean met with Haitian President René Préval, leading to media speculation that Mr. Préval was preparing Mr. Jean for a decision against his candidacy. A spokesman for Mr. Jean confirmed the meeting, but before the decision said Mr. Jean “emerged cautiously optimistic.”
A spokeswoman for Mr. Jean said: “[Mr. Jean's] most urgent concern is peace and prosperity for Haiti, and the wellness of all Haitians. He is prepared to cooperate with the next president of his homeland but surely hopes he is elected and will serve for these crucial years.”
Mr. Jean’s bid for president had attracted renewed attention to the island after a deadly Jan. 12 earthquake.
Long before making the bid, Mr. Jean had taken up a post as “roving ambassador” for the country, in an effort to raise awareness of the country’s poverty.
But his charitable activity has also generated controversy. Several watchdog groups accused Mr. Jean’s charitable foundation, Yele Haiti, of bad accounting on its tax filings and Mr. Jean of inappropriate management in paying himself with the charity’s funds. Mr. Jean has denied wrongdoing.
I think Wyclef is beating a dead horse he needs to let it go, if they make a way for wyclef to run
then they will need to do the same for everyone else, it may be more trouble then it’s worth.

terroristic fashion trends
Aug 21st

Cartier seems to think bombs are glamorous and Fendi thinks automatic weapons are sexy.
while I understand trying to get paid, creating a buzz, and expressing yourself through your work,
at what point does fashion promote/glorify violence and war?
For the past month I’ve seen Elitists along with everyday people on CNN upset about Muslims wanting to
build a mosque near Ground Zero, because it is too close to where 9/11 happened and it stirs up too many bad memories.
yet we are more then happy to promote weaponry that glamorize terrorism, violence and killing.
I get so tired of the hypocrisy, can someone please explain to me
what positive imagery does a designer gas-mask or luxury pistol leave in the mind of a child?
Cartier, Fendi, Louis Vuitton and many others have really out done themselves this year.
The same people who design and purchase these items, are the same ones,
who will sit and scream that America is so violent, and we need to build more prisons…
yet these same people can’t wrap their minds around why kids are killing each other EVERYDAY
on the streets of every major city in the U.S.
I hate people who throw rocks then hide their hands…
these people are pushing agendas, and personally I’m not buying in to it
I don’t see anything “cute” about this new line of terrorist fashion, but hey to each it’s own…
check them out what do you think?
